is it possible if we can be allowed to copy and paste our own posts irrespective wherever we post whether its in a forum or FF forum?? like onto a different portal or notepad wherever the user prefers to copy and paste the text?? i mean, i copy and paste my own text (unposted) onto a different place and the whole "read more.." thing pops up when i even havent posted that text...Originally posted by: Sutapasima
Copy-Pasting your post here... by edit ..select all...paste ..options ..
Hello Team,
I want to start by expressing my appreciation for the updates and new features on IF - it's great to see the platform evolving. However, I have some concerns regarding the recent changes, particularly the copy-pasting restrictions:
I’ve noticed that when I try to copy and paste, only the first 50 characters are included before a link appears, which feels a bit limiting. For example, I wanted to respond to a user’s review on my fan fiction update line by line, but since it was a members-only post, I couldn’t quote it directly. Instead, I ended up copying everything manually to respond, which felt a bit like doing a scavenger hunt with my keyboard.
Additionally, while editing my fan fictions, I faced a frustrating situation where I lost a 7,000-word chapter because only half of it copied before the link popped up. It’s been quite a challenge! I know I can work in Word, but let’s just say, that copy-paste experience was more of a horror story than I bargained for ... because while I was pasting from there; the space between two words just disappeared .. like this (@bold)
Miss thosedays .. it was funback then
IF is a space eater too
I also noticed that we can’t hide our active thread posts anymore, which adds to the clutter. Just yesterday, I wanted to copy an original story to post on Wattpad, but I was reminded of this new update. It’s proving to be quite inconvenient.
While I understand these measures are in place to protect our content,
(Also, as one user pointed out few days ago in this very thread) - I think it’s worth noting that there are tools available that can extract text from images in no time at all. Jisko copy karna hoga wo karke hi rahega.
I don’t believe I’m the only one facing these issues. It might be helpful to conduct a poll or gather feedback from the community regarding these features.
I sincerely request you to consider my request! Thank you for all your hard work in improving IF
Happy Diwali!
Best regards,
Anushka
