In Alia’s case Ranbir hit the jackpot. He was literally over the hill when she not just married him but also had a child against the industry norms when she was just 28 so that he won’t be too old, his own words, to play with his child. She gave him the much needed family man facelift while putting her own career at stake. What did she get in return? A bunch of hate and a budha husband.

When things are going ur way, be thankful but not delusional that you’ve hit some lifetime jackpot..evidently things don’t remain the same way…this applies to all those “bestest life , best husband , best in laws, best love storiyaan” crap that Bolly couples try to give us …cough Alia, bebo, Deepu…cough

But that also means when things are not ongoing ur way, stay hopeful and don’t ur doomed for the rest of ur life or that u need to avenge all ur woes…this applies to those “woe is me” ppl who always whine and whinge …cough Kangu cough ….

Basically always expect change, good and bad and go through it with as much integrity as possible …such is life

Any married woman looks for security, safety and respect from their in-laws. Just like Alia wouldn’t have married Ranbir if he came from a background like Rajkumar Rao or Nawazuddin.

what do you mean she married for Bachchan name. She could have married anyone.. Bachchan was not some prize. In fact the Bachchans were lucky to get her.

She married Saif when he was relevant and made them a power couple of sorts. Saif's career as a lead went all downhill in the last decade.

Ironically enough, his box office power (particularly as a lead) faded more or less when they got together. Especially since they tried to present themselves as a power couple onscreen but had a distinct lack of chemistry.

His golden era was HSSH, Dil Chahta Hai, Kya Kehna, KHNH, Hum Tum, Salaam Namaste, Race, etc. For those few years in the mid-early 2000s, he was at his peak. The only hits he's had since then are his movies with Deepika, as well as Tanhaji which was more due to Ajay and Kajol's starpower.

If you look at his hit movies, his hit jodis were with Preity and Deepika. The films he made with them were generally always successful (Kya Kehna, KHNH, Salaam Namaste, Love Aaj Kal, Cocktail, Race 2). Unlucky for him, Preity retired and Deepika outpaced him as a star so it would be lowering herself to work with him now in movies.

Kareena and Saif knew each other a long time before, having relationships before admitting (and comitting) to an attraction to each other. Saif was the first to realise that he was (and still is) in love with Kareena...Kareena needed a bit more time to adapt to a man who didn't want to follow the 'old-fashioned-Indian-way' by making himself superior to her (at least this was my impression by seeing them interact).

Alia and Katrina do hype up their husbands but Deepika actually downplays Ranveer. I have not seen her go all out and praise him or support his films.

Ya, Saif did hit jackpot with Bebo else if she wasn’t preening about his everywhere Saif would have been forgotten. I mean even today she is more successful and he is a second lead now even though he is a talented actor.
