So maybe I am just being foolishly optimistic (not maybe but I am) but maybe we will get more focus on Bilal in upcoming episodes.

They started with showing him as a drunk and also showed how he is in casual relationships with multiple women…he has a backstory that they didn’t get into. Even Sadaf’s father says he feels pity for him when he thinks about his childhood. Isn’t the premise supposed to be about how love changes him? Unless that was a blatant lie, there is a journey he has to go through. He hasn’t changed yet, maybe he’s more mindful about becoming ridiculously drunk after what Mirza Saab but I’m not even sure if that is a change he’s gone through. Maybe he was always like this and just landing back to Pakistan was triggering so he drank more than usual. Because even from before, he had the ability to sober up when needed…for example during the interviewing process. He’s probably more of a functioning alcoholic because he seems to run his business successfully.

To get Sadaf to this desperate point, her journey to get to this point was necessary to show. I will argue that it didn’t need to be this long and stretched out but we needed to see it. They emphasized how she is stubborn and will not do anything she doesn’t want to including entertaining Ammar’s declaration of love for her. Her self dignity is very valuable to her. I’m not sure if they also wanted to emphasize that she wasn’t in love with him because she also stressed this. The death of her father, her discovery of her brother’s diagnosis and the emotional roller coaster she went through was essential to bring her to this point. Her desperation needed to be evident. Zaviyaar’s illness should only serve as a catalyst of getting them together so I hope they don’t spend too much more time on it.

I feel the next part should focus on Sadaf and Bilal developing whatever relationship that they form. Bilal’s changes should come along the way as his feelings for her get deeper and deeper. Hoping it goes in this direction. I don’t want them wasting a lot of time on Ammar and Sadaf. Of course I don’t want him ignored either because he factors into the story somehow. I just don’t want it to take over.

I hope we get more of Bilal’s internal conflict shown and I feel like it’s essential to the overall story. Why show all his toxic habits if no time will be spent showing how he overcomes all of this and changes?

Not sure what Humsha is up to ..she comes off as so strange to me - seeming to say the right things to Sadaf ..yet kinda feeling jealous of her? ..can't figure out what's her schtick.

I still can't understand what made Bilal go gaga over Sadaf in one glance!!

Humsha has been trying to repress her feelings . She kind of has accepted Bilal will never like her.

Going by the synopsis, it doesn't seem like it is about bilal's redemption or transformation.

the show has taken bilal from dilkashi to uns to ishq to aqeedat (respect) in 8 episodes without the script or performance ever clearly explaining these transitions or justifying them. the point was probably to take him to the selfless silent lover stage who'll make all kinds of sacrifices for the heroine (ibadat) as soon as possible and keep him in that status quo for the remainder of the series till maybe last 2 episodes.

I am sure his backstory story will be a few lines of dialogue that will be over and done in one scene never to be mentioned again.

bilal has no other role to play other than sadaf ka prem pujari for 30+ episodes. though this better not be a saad redux. all that drunkard womanizer thing was cktr intro and window dressing they got rid of within a few episodes.

this BA cktr we see now has little bearing with cktr we saw in e1. might as well have shown him to be a functional alcoholic from get go because i doubt we'll even get to see him struggle with giving up alcohol and women.

Let’s see, it’s very possible that they won’t show us his journey. It would be nice. It doesn’t have to be huge struggle but some self reflection would be nice to see. It is a love story at the end of the day so I do anticipate a lot of the story being about that.

I don’t feel like he’s escalated that fast in his love that his entire life has changed. He may have always been a functioning alcoholic, occasionally having his super drunk moments. That would be far more realistic for him to be a functioning alcoholic who occasionally drinks more than he can handle than having him like that around the clock. It’s more controlled after his talks with Mirza Saab but he hasn’t given up alcohol yet. Mirza Saab put a sense of guilt in him that he was lacking before…reminding him that it isn’t something that his father would approve of. So there has been subtle change even if it is just the realization that what he is doing is wrong. He isn’t a changed man yet though…he’s still talking about having casual flings with women so it isn’t as if he’s transformed. And his lifestyle has been front and center being scrutinized consistently throughout the show so how is it just window dressing? He’s very much living his previous life except now he is thinking about Sadaf.

If he truly falls in love with Sadaf, giving up girls shouldn’t be hard. Giving up alcohol should be a struggle but I doubt they will show that. I think they will show him clean up his lifestyle and be a one woman man because of Sadaf and quite honestly I’m fine with that because that in itself will be a journey. The main issue for him is that he doesn’t believe in love and commitment because of some prior trauma. Finding someone that shows you true love exists might be getting at the root of the issue.

It could totally suck and they could just wash over everything. I think it’s too early to tell. Maybe tomorrow’s episode will be more telling. We haven’t seen much of him lately to know. Right now, I’m finding his character consistent with explainable and realistic changes. Let’s see where it goes.

If that is how they are going and she doesn't turn evil then the feeling i got while watching today's episode is correct.

Today i was wondering that why the hell is everyone confiding in humsha?? Bilal, amaar, sadaf, jo dekho iske paas aa jaata hai dil ka rona lekar

.... And i realized they are using hunshas to basically tell us whats going on in a character's mind. Its absolutely poor writing where instead of showing by actions you are using one character to spoon feed your audience what the other character is thinking and feeling... Like spelling it out for toddlers bec you can't be bothered to write scenes that actually showcase all the internal conflicts

She won’t turn evil. She would be the shoulder Bilal cries on when Sadaf leaves him for Amar.

But he doesn’t change. We can now deduce from the teasers that he becomes an alcoholic again after Sadaf leaves him.

That’s a crappy role for her then. I was hoping there would be more to her
