Since Zaviyaar's drinking of milk seems a hot topic, may I point something?

It was Sadaf who gave him the glass of milk before Mr. Mirza's death and he drank it. And then there is another scene where Farzaana overspill milk while boiling and then she dropped the glass of milk she brought for Mr. Mirza upon seeing her husband lifeless - a life lost!

And then after Mr. Mirza's death, we again see Sadaf giving her brother his glass of milk - if you ask me, I think Haseeb might be giving hints, who knows! smiley2

Ok I’m not smart enough to figure this out. What is it hinting at?

That’s insane. That graveyard scene was actually begging for a slow pace that would linger on him longer but instead we get the kid drinking milk?

They’re slowing down and building suspense over stories people aren’t invested in. As much as I am moved by Zaviyaar’s illness, that isn’t the main plot of the story. They are treating it as if it is and it’s a final reveal that we’ve been watching the entire drama to see unfold. It’s just a story that’s leading up to her circumstances to interact with Bilal Abdullah. I felt the same when Sadaf was trying to tell Daniya about who Ammar actually likes. She took forever and there was even an interruption, like no one is that invested. It isn’t some big revelation in this drama that we have been waiting for. It’s at the intro stage. Just move on with it.

If the scenes are slowed down between Sadaf and Bilal, I won’t mind because they are the main plot. But something tells me that they will just speed past those.

jahan suspense create karna chahiye tha wahan nahi kya.

instead of bilal blushing when he hears sadaf's name, or crying over thoughts of sadaf on the piano, or finger-writing her name in air, they could have created a hook around bilal's intention about appointing sadaf - whether bilal is an ayyash guy who is manipulating sadaf to join his company so he can hit on her, or is he remorseful that mirza sb thinks so badly of him that he won't even let his daughter apply, so trying to make amends.

another place to create suspense would have been bilal's backstory. like jafaa they could have started giving info little by little through flashbacks but revealing the full story a few episodes down the line,

but instead of creating hooks around your lead cktr, they r trying to create hook and drag around the most inane things. it makes these subplots just look ott and stupid. that phone call kab kya and record kahan hai mystery was hella annoying. As someone pointed here, she could have just looked at the call log in her dad's phone if she wanted to know when he called the estate agent smiley6

haseeb doesn't know masala maybe and has misfired by trying to create masala where none is warranted while completely letting go of opportunities where hooks could have been created.

Sorry i’m not talking about the funeral in SMD I was talking about the graveyard visit (sorry I didn’t make it clear), the day after the funeral. That’s what was picked up by SH and they compared it to Hareem’s scenes for the funeral and the following day. Sometimes Maya needs to let go and let her acting do the talking and forget about makeup. Hania/ Hareem and many more do go without in highly emotional scenes (like Ayeza, Sajal, Yumna, Sabeena) especially where grief is involved. They’re not worrying about how they’ll look and brave the no makeup look/ bare face. It’s appreciated by audience and reviewers for a reason - because the character is relatable. No one thinks about doing a bit of makeup even a day after the funeral of their mum or dad. Let’s be realistic. That’s what Hassan mentioned who would think about doing makeup and Aamna agreed that it’s true. That if anything if she wanted to do makeup and couldn’t go without then do a no makeup look. Kajal is a clear indication of makeup being applied - it screams out that she’s got some makeup on her face. That’s all. I also did blame Haseeb since he’s the director and should’ve picked up on this. After JSA and how acclaimed it was he’s sort of overlooking things that he’d normally be on top of.

Doesn't milk represent life/ good health/ sustenance? And those were seven almonds she was giving to him along with milk, right?

'Meri aankhon mein aansoo dekh ke yeh mat samajhna ke mein maut ko uski marzi karne doongi'

Mr. Mirza didn't reveal the truth to the ladies of the house, because he was programmed to believe that since women cry and panic over things, they are not strong enough to fight against difficulties. But he himself was not strong enough neither to sustain his life nor his son's. But his daughter, who was once carefree and bubbly, will hold it together to keep her brother alive. She couldn't save her father, because she was not given a chance to share his burden - a character growth. Just my perspective!smiley1

I heard someone explain the scene breakdown in e5 with the pauses and zooms. The e6 scenes I did time myself because I was so annoyed and couldn't believe how excruciatingly stretched some scenes were. These seemed to be added in on purpose and not an oversight, which made me even more irritated.

Wasn't SMD one of the pinned posts on Geo's IG page? Can someone confirm?

I think they pin new upcoming shows until the next one comes out. Tere Bin is the exception.

Currently Ushna shah’s makeup in jail in that new promo, Maya’s post funeral and Shagufta aunty ka in kmkt after going beghar are giving each other a run for their money.

I love Hania’s look today. She aced the minimal makeup. But the fake nails are noticeable even there. Easily avoidable. Jahan itni mehnat ki hai wahan these details should also be taken care of.

I’ll be honest, I don’t really mind what they have shown about Bilal so far. They have hinted at a traumatic past and Mirza Saab said something similar to his wife. I’m ok with the reveal coming out later. I just think we need more of him.

I think he’s confused about his feelings about Sadaf. He doesn’t love her yet he cannot stop thinking about her. There’s a fixation, an infatuation building there and I don’t think he’s one to feel this way about any woman. Him blushing, spelling out her name was a reflection of this attraction, curiosity and building fixation. He isn’t a changed man just yet and I think that further interaction will Sadaf will change. At least I hope so, it will have more impact that way. Maybe a little monologue of him thinking about the confusion he is facing would be helpful. However the way he was sitting by the pool thinking about Sadaf like he was analyzing or trying to figure out the situation served that purpose for me.

I’m okay with them leaving the Bilal scenes as they are although I think they could slow down on some of those. I just need some heavy editing on the other scenes, no one is that invested in them. Just pick up the pace overall. I don’t have much hope for the next episode as it will be a continuation of the Zaviyaar situation. I’m hoping Thursday’s episode will offer more. But fingers crossed that the focus doesn’t shift from Sadaf’s family to Sadaf and Ammar.
