Writing kajal like that is the most normal way of wearing kajal in my place. She isn't having any blush or eyeshadow on. Just nude lipstick and kajal. If wanted they could have made her wear no lipstick. It don't even look like the makers went overboard with the filters either. The texture of her skin is very much visible.

It's more than obvious that the reason why the director wanted her to have kajal is to draw the entire attention to her eyes which is totally visible in this pic as well and it's done in a natural way.

They compared her to Hareem Farooq whose face was bare of ANY MAKEUP, during funeral of the father, to Maya’s MAKEUP face. Even Hania is without makeup during the scenes where Sharjeena is at home with Mustafa aka nighttime or just casually talking. Perhaps Maya’s not confident enough to go totally barefaced but it takes away from the scene and her performance. It’s not relatable in any sense for audiences and the director should’ve picked up on it because Bismils director isn’t anywhere near an acclaimed director like Haseeb is but he ensured Hareem was without makeup and latter didn’t. Even Aamna agreed that Maya shouldn’t have had makeup on during the funeral or at least made it like a no makeup look. Saba Hameed also had makeup on and this was also criticised. So it’s the director as well as the actors error.

Maya didn't had any makeup during the funeral day. It's the next or 2-3 days later after the funeral when she had kajal when they visited the grave and I said why they made her wear it. She didn't had that much kajal in the next scene with her brother. It was blurred out look. In that scene it definitely wasn't the director's error. They wanted her to have kajal to make her eyes stand out for their first meet which was all about them stealing glace at each other. So her eyes needed to stand out. There is something called creative liberty and the director took it for their first meet.

In bismil they didn't had to show the first meeting of a fl and ml for a romantic drama to make her eyes or anything stand out. Hania always have no makeup makeup look. In kmkt the leads are staying alone in a flat. She didn't have to look presentable for anyone and it's more of a contemporary couple.

This was Haseeb's post after the Faisalabad shoot. I guess we would finally get to see some actual romance now with Sadaf joining the office.

A no makeup makeup look should generally be the better option for Sadaf as a character anyway. You can still look good! Shes chirpy and innocent bubbly si right? The look should be subtle and the brown/dark palette is just not it. It gives her a hardened look instead. Even next episode sar pe duputta hai and makeup is full Sleeping? Smoky eyes sab laga howa hai. Even that shot in the promo where Bilal wakes her up with a rose. So much makeup. Why?

Most actresses have toned it down a lot now in dramas so this conscious effort is obvious. Barring Neelam Muneer The reason Bismil was even brought up was same day same storyline chal rahi hain wahan. But wahan realistic hai. Why would you even put on kajal or lipstick man. Likewise Zaviyar’s gelled back hair is so out of place also.

Not only filter, everyone's looks are inconsistent due to the very long shooting. Hira and Wahaj look bloated in some scenes but slim in others . Usama 's stubble appears and disappears. Maya suddenly has her hair dyed and suddenly not.

I think maya should have worn 💄 maybe then aamna and hassan would have been impressed by her makeup in the show and might have called it revolutionary

Itne hot lag rahe hain Hira Wahaj, bus ker do I love their styling throughout.

Bus Humsha ka makeup Maya se switch ker do. She can take the dark browns and give Maya the soft pinks

By the way I love how much appreciation that flowery outfit got that Hira was wearing. Kafi achi lag rahi thi. I thought Pemra slept on the deep slit skirt though. She looked so good but I thought coz of Pemra she might have been pushing the boundaries a bit.
