From what I have seen, Anmol sucks at playing the bechari female lead and she just looks doped. However, give her a fiery character, she relishes the lines and throws it out like grenade. She looks more alive with those kind of characters.
Glad Mehru is being played by Anmol because with some actors, Mehru would come across as bratty. Here, she is just the right amount of practical pragmatism mixed in with reality -- no one is going to help her and so she has to do what is needed for the family and so who cares about Beejaan complaining about sitting in the mechanic shop. After all, the car isn't going to walk itself to the mechanic shed and get itself repaired by itself.
