Just caught up with the episodes so far!! Seems like Shahnawaz is faking his softening towards Mehru, no? I can't tolerate Mehru's family honestly. He clearly is faking it but it looks so real 
Even if he is faking the niceness to trap her he clearly is mesmerized by her as well. He has been attracted to her even befor his brother's kand. So now he has a reason to go after her. Can give excuses to his mother and dumb fiancee saying he is going after her for revenge. Ek teer se do nishane 
. Now he is gonna marry her, have kids with her and live his entire life with her saying he did all that for his brother . That dumb fiancee will believe it as well .
