I can't talk for everyone but as someone who was in a long term relationship before marrying my now husband, I can tell that we both don't use so much filters while talking to each other.. whether it's about his family, my family, us, or some generic discussion (and I only mean when in a discussion not a full blown fight with throwing things etc).. so to me this is normal.. people and especially spouses (atleast those I have known or see at close quarters) always use the other as a space to rant, vent, find comfort and acceptance in.. I will never understand why that's wrong cos that's the one relationship that allows you to be yourself without putting in too much thought into words. But well! Each to their own! Clearly!

Exactly - once you become comfortable enough with that person, you develop a strong enough bond that you do not need filters anymore. It requires time & understanding - warna bahar wale toh hai hi to bash you about how dare you call your husband gadha to his face
