That’s not the point. The point is as the writer and director he didn’t have a say in the casting of his own story. He may have decided on Alia himself, but now we’ll never know. He may have gone for Sanya, Fatima, Radhika, Nushrat, Parineeti, or auditioned a new actress. Point being, KJo made his decision for him and told him “this is how it works”.

Well, he's not wrong. Whoever puts in the money gets to control the major aspects of the movie like the casting. If the writer doesn't like it, he can go find another producer. It's in your own hands ultimately.

KJo's problem is that he has such a loud mouth that he can't stay away from the media and keeps getting into needless scuffles to protect his Aloo beti. If he kept quiet, none of it would matter.

But Karan is the boss, so technical he is the one who decides.

Nothing was confirmed. He only shared a rough draft to Karan. The point is Karan lobby all the best roles to Alia. Where Alia says she manifests and things come to her Karan as a producer can cast anyone, it is his money.
