Well how did he cope with Rishi Kapoor, his father because he was quite loud mouth and foul mouth?

Why is Ranbir so condescending towards Alia? Does he not love her?

Actually his father is the issue here. He grew up in a household with an abusive and loud father which traumatized him.

This is why he requests Alia to lower her tone to put him more at ease. Because when she's loud and shrill, he gets PTSD from his childhood with his father.
