Toh my first choice is still Urfi. I mean when I heard Urfi is playing new gen lead, I rushed back to watch anupamaa like nothing. 🤣
I genuinely want Urfi and her fashion sense to arrive on the sets of Anupamaa.
But then I realized, if Urfi plays Adhya, toh Samar who is Paras's character will become her onscreen step brother in our heads, which will be weird cuz they dated.
Paras lived Samar's character. I really loved Samar man.
DKP janta maaf nahi karegi!!
Back to casting, then there's Shivangi, I'd really love to watch as Adhya cuz she was spot on as Naira, but I am hoping DKP casts momo shivi in that new love story show they are planning to make. Trust me itv needs these two back again.
There's Sana Amin Sheikh who I'd love to see as Adhya, I thought she was perfect, but she took up a gujrati show only recently.
Now coming to Niti Taylor and Helly Shah. Both girls have an insane following on Instagram. Both are pretty popular actresses too.
Also, they both have baby faces. So perfect to play Adhya. Even long hair for Anupamaa's iconic braid. I think both of them can play Chhoti Anu very well.
Helly literally even has face similar to Aurra, its so easy to associate her with Adhya.
Sabse important reason. They both can cry really well. Crying is a huge part of Anupamaa’s identity, and I’ve noticed that many recent debut actresses on Indian TV can’t cry convincingly.
She’d do the role of Adhya well too.
Tanvi Hegde, omg, the sonpari girl - frooti, she'd be great as Adhya!!!! Does she act these days?
I am so hoping DKP auditions these girls man.
Note : I am not very aware of on what basis casting for shows is done. But if its followers, popularity, character traits, rona dhona, etc then all the girls I've mentioned match very well for Adhya's character on most counts.
Obviously, none of them can replace Rupali in terms of acting, but I don't think we are here trying to replace Rupali, we are just trying to steer the story away from the toxicity that is Shah family drama.
Kisi bhi show ka asli hero kahani hi honi chahiye.
DKP is primarily at fault here. They could have easily separated Anuj and Anupama, taken a six-year leap, and reunited them with a grown-up Adhya repentance track. Nayi lead ki zaroorat hi nahi padti, Aurra could have pulled off maybe a little older character, no generation leap required either. It could have been a beautiful "Tere Liye" moment. Instead, they chose a short leap followed by a generational leap, ab pata nahi kya karne wale hai MaAn ke sath.
I'm still trying to figure out story kaha jaa rahi hai vaise, samajh hi nahi aa raha.
