Like I said for Cricket. You need to have watched it to experience the enigma/euphoria/phenomenon this show was.

The only people who didn't watch this show were those who didn't like the actors, from rival fanbase, didn't have enough time or didn't like these genres at all. Everyone else did. Generally boys don't watch soaps but almost all of the friends in my circle knew about it and some watched it too. People you would never expect to watch something like this loved this show. That's why in just 18 months it became the Greatest ITV show in internet era (I am saying internet era because I don't like to compare different eras and different audience/response). There was a time when Yrkkh was considered competition to be the best ever show. But nothing could have even come close to it.

Fun Fact : I don't remember name but I think US show used ipkknd music for a clip or so. There was unreal hype for this that time. True or not I don't know but there was hype.
