In case of critical illness which requires operating and there's higher chances of death on ot, family member has to sign a bond that he/she is giving nod to proceed with operation. If anything goes wrong, hospital is not responsible...Since this is a serious case, generally family member needs to sign.
Thank you for clarifying, yes, I think in critical cases family members may put a complaint if patient doesnโt get treated properly, goes to coma or dies. So hospital need to take a precaution to inform the family and get the confirmation that family agrees to any risks with the health of the patient
