Exactly this! It’s fine for people to not want to watch SMD. In the end people should watch what they want to watch. I didn’t watch 22 Qadam either. I’m just not into cricket. I didn’t participate in Gentleman or 22 Qadam conversations either. I’m still considering watching Gentleman once it’s done but I’m not interested 22 Qadam - just not my genre. I think it’s even fine to like one more than the other. It’s just the hate that I’m referring too.

People are still reeling from yesterday. I think the link up thing being posted by media pages and then director also posting it looked like cheap publicity to some and put them off. Not gonna get into the “but was it really PR?” debate because for me lack of PR is equally a bad thing. This for a fandom who’s always been criticized for shipping is gonna take time to settle.

The channel using Tere Bin montage im totally fine with and as are others. I even posted about it. It’s the channels right to do it. But things like the SRK Kajol comparison I felt is premature. I just generally feel like the makers should chill and let the show happen instead of trying to prove something? Promote them being a good couple, use Jo Bichar Gaye, posters etc. But don’t get ahead of yourself. After the massive success of Tere Bin and subsequently the backlash on Mein, people just want the promotion to be a bit cautious. So it’s doesn’t blow up in anyone’s face later. Let the audience decide.

if you’re talking specifically about the forum, 100% reactions are related to the Yumna bashing seen here. Also we are maybe like 4 here ? But still the targeting is relentless. The discrediting done daily for Yumna, even her PR getting blamed for SMD, is nuts.

But maybe to you it wasn’t a big deal but given the fandoms history, every time there’s hypocrisy it will get called out and then things just blow up. When you have pages like GL, who called the YumHaj shipping “inappropriate” during the tours, repost what Aima wrote and not even initially use the character names, people will of course target them for their hypocrisy.

Many on Twitter are still being mature and supporting the show. It’s just that the others are louder and post more. You’ll see all the main accounts watching.

Another thing is the silence from solos when Yumna gets targeted but if anyone else does the response is there. Yumna gets bashed here daily. How many Wahaj “fans” respond to the hate ? Hardly any.

Ultimately it’s not a Wahaj, Yumna or Maya problem. It’s immaturity of fans. If you look at the actors they are always supportive of one another and share a great bond.

I don’t expect Wahaj or Yumna solos to jump in and save the other one. My frustration stems from the overall reaction on social media. A few comments here and there don’t bother me. There is an overwhelming amount of negative comments under Wahaj and Maya’s post saying only TB matters, they can never be Yumhaj and some other disgusting things about Maya. Honestly I don’t even know if they represent actual fans but they give us a bad rap so I just want to call it out. I know there are a lot of mature Yumhaj fans but sometimes they become quiet because calling it out is somehow being disloyal. The loudest ones are grabbing all the attention.

The fan wars just pit Wahaj and Yumna against each other and it’s sad because they genuinely get along. It’s important to call out fans bad behaviour without dragging the stars themselves. Thankfully Yumhaj fans here understand that. Wahaj and Yumna literally just got back from their tours. It’s clear to see that they get along well.

For this I partly blame some members of the fandom. But also the lumping together is a convenient tool also used by the anti YumHaj squad to malign the whole fandom. It works for them. It’s entertainment for them.

you’ll see keyboard warriors epic tweets being brought here every other day even though most have the account blocked and don’t engage and have even called it out. But nobody wants to talk about THAT.

As for the loud obnoxious ones, I attribute that to how toxicity exists in EVERY fandom. Just the other day I posted an Ishq Hua comment section and it was filled with Komal hate. So toxicity is a disease that exists in every place and fandom. Also I think people forget just how big and popular Tere Bin WAS. The number of people and the level of crazy is something else. It’s a big fandom. Some WILL be nasty as hell. Also people following Wahaj are probably also Yumhaj fans and would want to talk about season 2 and Yumhaj. Lastly, I also think it has a lot to do with people generally not liking Maya. Maybe if this was a Wahaj Hania project or Wahaj Sajal, people would be kinder.

Also people saying it’s Yumna’s PR. How does that even make sense? It doesn’t. Agreed that the SRK/Kajol thing is silly but every show has been heavily marketing chemistry. I call it the Tere Bin hangover, lol. Mein was falsely marketed and no one is more upset over that than me 😂 This one seems like a romance though even if it is a one sided one so some romantic elements will be promoted. In the end the audience will decide if how they work as an on screen couple. One thing I won’t be doing is comparing it to Tere Bin. I genuinely believe that kind of magic doesn’t happen often so I’m not expecting anyone to duplicate it anytime soon.

Why are people dragging Gentlemen ? These kind of promotions were actually started during Mein. Remember Ayeza- Wahaj were called the 'IT ' couple . Also Maya Ali gets linked with every male hero she works with , this is nothing new for her.

Do you feel she shades Wahaj unnecessarily? I get that vibe from her. Plus I feel they deliberately “forgot” about Jo Bichar Gaye and Mahaj having worked together in the past.
