Eid ka din

The first light of dawn had just begun to peek through the curtains of Mustafa and Sharjeena’s new apartment, casting a faint, ethereal glow over the room. The space, newly decorated with festive lights and traditional ornaments, was a far cry from their old rundown place.

In Karachi, the pre-dawn stillness was only broken by the gentle rustling of the early morning breeze, carrying with it a hint of the sea.Sharjeena had been up for a while, preparing for the day’s prayers. The apartment was quiet except for the soft hum of the shower and the occasional splash of water as Sharjeena showered and got ready. Mustafa, cocooned in the warmth of the bed, was still fast asleep, blissfully unaware of the approaching day.

With a tender but firm touch, Sharjeena shook Mustafa’s shoulder. “Mustafa, uth jao Fajr nikalta jaa raha hain

Mustafa grumbled, his voice muffled by the pillow. “Sone do yaar, Sharjeena. Panch minute bad utha dena

Sharjeena voice was gentle but insistent as she tapped his shoulder. “Mustafffaaa, utho, 6 baj gye hain, aaj Eid hain, aaj toh Fajr padh lon

With a reluctant sigh, Mustafa slowly pushed off the covers, blinking against the dim light filtering through the curtains. As he stretched and reluctantly prepared for the morning prayer, Mustafa grumbled under his breath. The early hour, combined with the promise of starting a new day with religious fervor, was not his idea of ideal wake-up conditions. His mood was distinctly grumpy as he shuffled out of bed, but it shifted the moment he saw Sharjeena.

She stood in the dim morning light, dressed in a pristine white salwar kameez, her hair in her natural waves and her demeanor calm. The sight of her, so serene and radiant, made Mustafa’s grumpiness fade away. He couldn’t help but feel a surge of warmth and affection. Despite his initial reluctance, he now felt a twinge of excitement. “Pyari lar rahi hon”

Sharjeena’s eyes twinkled with amusement. “Bas? Itni si tareef”

Mustafa raised an eyebrow playfully. “Tumhe dekh ke toh lagta hai, Eid tumhare bina adhoori hoti. Tum toh sach mein chand se nikli hui lag rahi ho aaj.”

Sharjeena felt a flush rise to her cheeks, her eyes softening as she met his gaze. “Acha, ab tum bhi jao, jaldi se fresh ho jao,” she said, trying to hide her blush. “Mustafa 7 baj jayega, Eid ki namaz miss ho jayegi, tumhein Masjid bhi to jaani haina.”

Mustafa chuckled, giving her a lingering look before heading to the bathroom. “Haan, Ja raha hun.”

Sharjeena, still blushing “Tumhara salwar meine press kar diya hain, wohi pehen na”

---------

Sharjeena had organized a festive gathering at the new home for Eid, inviting her family, and Mustafa’s sister Sidra. The apartment was decorated to welcome neighbors, who would come by to enjoy the delicious sawaiyan.

Mustafa and Sharjeena had previously only hosted Mustafa’s friends or attended gatherings at Sharjeena's parents' house. This was their first time hosting Sharjeena’s family for lunch, and Mustafa felt a mix of excitement and nervousness.

Mustafa burst through the door, a broad grin on his face as he held up a beautiful set of gajre. “Ek pyari si larki ke liye, ek chhoti si Eidi laaya hoon.”

Sharjeena, who was arranging the table, looked up with a mix of surprise and curiosity. “Eidi? Hum kal hi toh itna sab kuch kharide hai, aur ab ye kya hai?”

Mustafa walked over and gently placed the gajre around her hair. “Bas, Eid ke din ko aur bhi khubsurat banane ke liye. Tumhe dekh ke to lagta hai, gajre bhi tumhare aage chhote lagte hain.”

Sharjeena blushed, her cheeks turning a soft pink. “Mustafaaa, ammi abbu aa hi rahe honge, aur abhi sab kuch set up karna baki hain”

Mustafa teasing, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “Abhi time hain unhein aane mein, traffic mein ek do ghanta toh lag jayega, utnein mein kuch aur haseen bna lete hain ye din.”

Sharjeena laughed, adjusting the gajre with a smile. “Mustafa, tang nehi karo abhi, aaj sab acha acha ho jaye toh thodi mein tention free ho jaungi.”

Mustafa winked as he headed towards the bathroom. “Kar lon tum abhi apni manmani, lekin aaj raat ko koi aapko sone nehi dega”

---------

As the sun climbed higher, the apartment buzzed with anticipation. Sharjeena and Mustafa had been preparing all morning, and now the time had come for their first Eid lunch with Sharjeena’s family.

Sharjeena’s parents and Rameen were the first to arrive, greeted warmly by Mustafa at the door. He led them inside, chatting amiably. “Aunty welcome, ghar dhondhne mein koi takleef toh nehi huyi”

Yumna, Bilal followed soon after. Rameen, ever the chatterbox, burst in with energy. “Oye! Eid ke is din aap logon ne toh sabko masroof kar diya hai. Main to bas studies se thoda break lene aayi hoon.”

Mustafa laughed, handing her a glass of juice. “Rameen, tumhare liye ek special gift hain, meine ek naya game develop kiya hain, lunch ke bad sath khelte hain”

As they settled in and caught up, the sound of the doorbell signaled the arrival of Sidra and Waqas. Mustafa’s heart skipped a beat. He took a deep breath and greeted her with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Kaisi ho, Sidra. Tum aayi acha laga”

Sidra offered a hesitant smile in return, her gaze flickering between Mustafa and the bustling room. “Bulane ke liye Shukriya, Mustafa. Kitna arsa ho gya hume sath baithe huye.”

The atmosphere grew a little quieter as the family adjusted to the new dynamic. Sharjeena’s parents and siblings made polite conversation with Sidra, trying to bridge the gap between old tensions and new beginnings.

During the meal, which featured a traditional feast of poori, halwa, and paye, everyone couldn't stop praising Sharjeena’s cooking. “Kitne dinon baad meri beti ke hath ka halwa khaya hai, bohot swadisht bna hain!” Sharjeena’s dad exclaimed, while Sidra added, “Sharjeena ki poori aur paye toh zabardast hain, bilkul ghar ke jaise!”

After lunch, with the guests enjoying their chai Mustafa took a moment for himself on the balcony. The bustling apartment gave him space to reflect. Sidra approached him quietly, noticing his moment of solitude.

“Mustafa,” she began gently, “Main tumse baat karna chahti hoon. Na jaane kitna waqt guzar gaya, aur mujhe afsos hai ke jab tumhe meri zaroorat thi, tab main tumhare liye kuch na kar sakin. Mein chahti hun ki hum pehle jaise ek dusre ke sath rahein..”

Mustafa looked at her, his feelings a mix of hope and hesitation. “Sidra, aasan nehi sab bhool jaana, par mein puri koshish karunga.”

Sidra’s eyes softened. “Thank you, Mustafa. Mujhe puri umeed hai ki hum phirse pehle jaise rehenge. Ammi Abbu tumhe bohot yaad karte hain”

Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked back into the room. Before walking in, he paced for a moment and muttering to Sidra, “Yeh sab kuch itna asaan nahi hai. Itni der se jo doori hai, usse ek pal mein kaise suljha sakte hain? Khair”. He couldnt bear to talk about his parents yet. That wound was still as fresh as the day he left the house.

---------

The evening came to a close with the apartment still echoing with the remnants of laughter and conversation. As the guests began to leave, Mustafa remained quieter than usual, his thoughts lingering on the conversation with Sidra. After bidding farewell to Sharjeena’s parents and seeing them out, he quietly retreated to their bedroom.

Once inside, he sat down on the edge of the bed, letting out a deep sigh. The weight of the day seemed to settle on his shoulders as he leaned back, staring at the ceiling. The first Eid in their new home had been filled with both joy and unspoken tension, and now, in the quiet of the room, Mustafa allowed himself a moment of reflection and rest.

Sharjeena noticed his subdued mood and gently sat next to him on the bed, “Tum itne down kyun lag rahe ho? Aaj to sab kuch itna acha hua.”

Mustafa stayed silent, his gaze fixed on the floor. Sharjeena’s eyes softened as she guessed, “Sidra ne kuch kaha hai?”

Mustafa nodded slowly. “Haan, nehi hun mein thik. Nehi bhula pa raha wo raat”

She gently squeezed his hand, her voice soothing. “Dekho, sab kuch apne waqt pe theek hota hain. Aaj tumne Sidra ko bulaya. Tumhein acha laga?”

Mustafa stayed silent, his eyes closed. He gave a slight nod.

Sharjeena smiled “Mustafa, sab theek ho jayega, fikar nehi karo, tumhare saath hoon main,”

Sharjeena leaned in closer, her voice becoming playful. “Aur agar tum chaho, to aaj raat ko hum dono apne tareeke se celebrate kar sakte hain.”

A small smile broke through Mustafa’s serious expression. “Wahi to soch raha tha. Tumhare saath raat aur bhi khaas banani hai.”

Sharjeena leaned in to close the distance, and Mustafa’s lips met Sharjeena’s in a soft, lingering kiss. The kiss deepened as their emotions flowed freely, the tenderness of the moment giving way to a more passionate embrace. Sharjeena’s hands roamed up to rest on his shoulders, pulling him closer as their kiss grew more intense.

Mustafa’s lips traced a path along her jawline, his touch gentle yet fervent. “Tum mujhe kabhi chod ke nehi jaana ” he murmured against her skin.

Sharjeena responded with a soft moan, her fingers tangling in his hair as she pulled him back to her lips. The kiss became a dance of passion and affection, each touch and caress expressing the depth of their connection.

As they finally pulled apart, breathless and smiling, Mustafa looked into her eyes with a mixture of adoration and desire. “Tumhare saath yeh raat aur bhi khoobsurat lagti hai.”

Sharjeena smiled, her cheeks flushed with happiness. “Aur tumhare saath, har din aur raat, ek nayi kahani hai.”

They embraced again, their hearts full and their bond strengthened, savoring the intimacy and love that defined their relationship.

I have a contradictory theory in mind which occurred to me when someone pointed out that mustafa's watch is a new one and seems expensive. Ig this is after him becoming money minded and sharjeena leaving him when a family medical condition will occur ( I hope it is our very own uncle ) mustafa will have all the money of the world unlike the first time when his father was sick, would afford the best of treatment yet uncle won't survive. This will make him realize what sharjeena would have been trying to make him realize since long that money isn't everything in this world.

I mean he already got thrown out of the house because he is poorer kid and felt inadequate when he couldn't pay for his dad's surgery....I dont think it would be fair to make him again face money issues, he is cutie pookie. He has had enough life lessons now to believe money is important smiley17
