Salman Khan started shooting for his first movie Biwi Ho To Aisi on 9th September 1987.

He was paid 11000 INR for his first movie in supporting role.

Salman Khan used his own personal clothes for the shooting of his debut movie Biwi Ho To Aisi (1988).

Biwi Ho To Aisi released on 26th August 1988.

For his first movie in a leading role Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) Salman was paid 30000 INR and Bhagyashree who was the lead actress was paid 1.5 Lakh INR.

For his third film Baaghi which released in 1990 Salman was paid 75000 INR.

For his film Phir Milenge (2004) where Salman Khan played the role of an AIDS patient; he only charged 1 RE.

Salman Khan was paid 11 Lakhs INR for his film Saajan (1991)

He charges 100 Crores INR per film.

After having scent the air on a filmset as someone working there (assistant director to a movie which his father had written), he went further to play the courageous brother-in-law of Rekha's character. And then the first of 14 "Prem" happened (although he wasn't really hellbent on playing in a romantic movie )

Did he ever think at that time what a special position he would hold in Hindi Cinema (or even wish it)??? I suppose that somehow he got involved in the filmmaking rather quickly because already for his next movie he suggested the story and got his wish for action...and the success he got from early on proved him right
