Not fair at all. At least in the original Bengali show, people were saying they did stay as real husband and wife for a brief period of time before they get divorced. But here that is not the case.

J always respected Ani, until she realized he was playing a double game, deceiving his family and indirectly making her the target of his family's frustrations with his behavior.

It's after Ani did this constantly that J started reacting.

Ani was showing a caring and loving side to J and hiding it from his fiance. Thats plain wrong. However bad Arshi is, she invested years with Ani and he was quite happy with her till J came on the scene.

Both fell in love unexpectedly.

The diff is J even while she felt the strong pull, she never encouraged Ani and always asked him to watch out for Arshi. Whereas Ani could not stay away from J and hence he put her in a very toxic situation for his selfish reasons. The token support did nothing for J - she kept losing her confidence day by day. He could have had her stay in a girls hostel - why the need to keep her with him to be insulted esp, esp when her mom gave up her life so J will have a respectful life and Ani knows it.

The diff between Ani and J is - she never acted on her feelings, she never lied to her loved ones, while Ani did. If Ani stuck with Arshi and never crossed the line with J - I don't have a problem. But he did. He was too comfortable with J treating her as his haq but not giving her any haq. The minute Arshi or his fam questioned him, he fabricated a story that always undermined J, to escape from Arshi and BH fam. That is unfair to both J and Arshi. You can argue that is why J is so insecure now. See her body language - she belives she is a nobody. She was not like this in Kashmir. Ani allowed this to happen. Even Tejas called out the lack of respect Ani was showing J - he told her he would only marry Arshi never J.

If they showed Ani as mindful of his word and therefore sticking to Arshi, without breaking hos promises to her, that would have earned him some respect. But no, he in his monologue during his wedding said if J had given a hint he would have never married Arshi. What does that say. If not J - I'll take Arshi and that is exactly what he did. He told J he cannot live without her and blackmailed her to come to BH, once there did not stand by her, instead was telling her not to interfere in his wedding, and the worst when J showed him some hometruths, instead of understanding where he is doing wrong, he goes and does the same mistake of pda with Arshi and selfishly using her again. If we think Ani was unaware of what he was doing to Arshi its one thing, J spelt it out for him clearly what he was doing to Arshi and he is still doing it to her. ?? He has been extremely unfair to Arshi. Why can't he tell Arshi - he does not love her but will promise to be with her if she wants him? Like J asked why marry Arshi when he does not love her? If J knew Ani loved her she may have taken a stand for their marriage realizing it was from both sides. If you see in the story she always said but you love Arshi didi and he never said he did not - ever. She told him - you and Arshi didi are like a tree and no one can take you down....she genuinely believed Ani loved Arshi and was maybe confused abt her. Thats why she never accepeted her love, and sent him to Arshi. She came to BH when he said he loved her and he came and said he invited J to his wedding with Arshi and if Arshi was angry with him.

Last but not least - he thinks J can actually hurt Arshi, and goes to the police station to ensure J gets punished, offers her no comfort whn she comes to him, does not even apologize because his fam is there and goes to see her early mornin gchupke se, when J left BH and he is asking why she did not wait for a few days for him to help her....damn self centred dont you think?

Also he is thinking if I did not go behind J it means I dont love her. He does not even know whom he loves. If there was no change he would have had 2 women indefinitely. Would you accept a man like this in real life? J could have died for all Ani cared. His precious Arshi said don't look for J and he did not.

J's mistakes are stupidity, mahaanatha, sacrifice, self deprecation and never hurt anyone else but herself.

Ani's mistakes were selfishness, deceit, mind games, black mail to get his way, cowardice (after confessing his love - pretending the next morning), confusion (love Arshi or J) he hurt everyone around him BH included and Arshi & J the most. He also has love for Appu and the bechari's in life and that endears him to us and J.

Take all the above as argument sake...if I did not like Ani and J - I would not be watching Jhanak, so thats why I say - I'm happy for them to unite but after Ani has paid appropriately for all of above. J has suffered more than her due and deserves a break.

Wait and see, Ani will tomorrow tell himself - J left BH because she wanted better opportunities and found someone who could provide it - that's what he told Arshi this week...and then his comment on her not waiting....makes it still about him first. Hehas not even realized his mistakes.

Sooo finally got time to read it.....a long reply to your long post...

Now first we all have to accept that Ani is a complex man....a very complex and layered Character...but no one would question his intention....He is a very very good hearted and well-intentioned man....

Firstly if he was selfish...he wouldn't have brought her to Kolkata...He didn't have any need to... Both of them decided that the marriage that they had as an escape ...is not going to decide anything for their life..now whatever happened in Kashmir would have stayed in Kashmir...He is not an idiot to not understand the complications it will give rise to in his life.He would have gone back and lived his life...but he couldn't....Bcz he is not a selfish man...he thought about that girl who has just lost her only family,her mother....Tejas was searching for her...and he assumed a sense of zimmedari on her...and brought her...

Now he did not bring him as his wife...as it was their mutual decision to not accept that marriage...she was his responsibility....and he was really commited to fulfill it...

His life was pretty simple on the surface before Jhanak coming to her life .Even his parents have exclaimed.." kya yeh hamara beta hai..." Means he never had any reasons to rebel against them or lie to them as he was always someone who lived exactly how they wanted him to live...He also happily did that as it gave him the attention and affection from his parents that he craved soo much since his childhood....

But bringing Jhanak was a very drastic change he brought in his pattern..the evil bose always had certain pre-conceived notions regarding jhanak bcz of the her birth and mother the influence of Shristi in that house and these things were enough for them to harbor hatred towards Jhanak....

After that whatever Ani did were just excuses for them.... otherwise they definitely would have found any other way to be mean towards her....bcz later when Ani decided to be rude to Jhanak as a pretense...still I don't think they were nice to her in anyway.....

About him choosing to lie to his family...then he had a life before meeting Jhanak...he had his own insecurities...he himself has been a victim of childhood PTSD....It is not only Jhanak who had a difficult life...it is Ani as well...who has dealt with neglect from parents, dealing with a cold mother....At least Jhanak had beautiful memories with her mother...Ani didn't have that...Yes Choton is closer to him..but we can definitely see that he is not that close to him....He himself built a personal of Aniruddh Bose... suppressing that child...and got their parents affection by paying that price....Yes...he lied...yes...you can say that he chose to avoid instead of facing the situations head-on...but he has done this all his life...He was a pacifist by creating a bridge Between two sides in his family...How are we expecting him to change all of a sudden....he was in a very difficult situation..but still somewhere he managed to support Jhanak and made her life as beautiful as possible.....

He definitely knows his family more than Jhanak does...so how he is choosing to deal with his family should not have been Jhanak's concern.....If she never considered herself his wife.....but the truth is she did deep down

In the initial episodes what stood out for me was the clarity that Ani always had.For him Jhanak was his "zimmedari"....at least he believed so...who was very very important to him but he used to say Arshi is his love...Thats why RuNak thrived on emotional intimacy..there’s never any sexual tension initially as he was fully confident of himself that that’s never going to happen. Now when I look back He trusted himself much more than Jhanak trusted herself in this matter...She had the emotional awareness to realise what it might lead to.but for him...his trust on himself was Evident because there’s zero inner conflict or hesitation of any kind on his part while lying to his own people or even Arshi for Jhanak & her safety...bcz he had compartmentalized his life...and his conscience was clear that he was not doing anything drastically wrong here...just trying to keep everyone happy as it is a small thing..The sheer level of his candour in doing these things can come only from a total lack of guilt because he’s absolutely sure nothing untoward would happen...

And that's why I believe in the initial episodes he did not cheat Arshi...bcz he never thought that he was in love with Jhanak..he never knew himself to that extent....The moment he started understanding himself his demeanor changed......

Yes... lying to Arshi was wrong....and he is paying for that.....but I don't think he was cheating Arshi in the beginning...it is just that he did not know himself well...

But then things happened...Then gradually after going through so many ups and downs physical tension came into pictures..and when he finally confesses his feelings , not delving into who did what..but things went wrong.... terribly wrong...that today probably that fever night is something both of them are regretting probably...May be he thinks he crossed the line in the relationship by Confessing it or may be by falling in love only....

And I believe next day of the fever night...both of them were testing eachother...Ani was more concerned about if he made her uncomfortable....and awkward..So probably he started from the negetive route .. I am not defending him..but I don't think he was coward...it is just that he was waiting for Jhanak to give him a sign....

And Jhanak didn't give him that... I must say Jhanak confused him a lot...Last day confronting him about her haq...and how she felt bad for her Sindoor....then the moment Ani asked for clarity she said that she is not lalchi.... saying that she doesn't have any feelings for him....then how can Ani just assume that she loves him...

He didn't handle it in the best way... I agree..but that doesn't make him a self-centred coward.....

He fell for Jhanak when he was committed to Arshi...All his pride on himself was shattered....Sooo it is not a good emotion to go through when your trust is broken.... it is even worse when your trust on yourself is broken....He needed Jhanak's support to deal with the emotions at that moment...

And that's the issue that I had with the conversation between Jhanak and Ani...She spoke the truth...yes but the way she said them it actually pushed him more into that pit of self-shaming.... I have definitely issue with the way she spoke that day....Then he said that..if this is what you want then you will see how happy I am with your Arshi didi....For him it's again about Jhanak...he did not want Jhanak to think of him as someone who cheated on Arshi....Yes he took a flawed decision....His "performance" is what made things worse... I agree...but that doesn't mean that he thought if not Jhanak... I would take Arshi...It was much more complicated than that....he was trapped in the mess.....

And about Jhanak's lack of self-worth and self-esteem....yes it did escalate in BH..but it's root was always in her life with her mother in Kashmir... Her mother always projected her hard life and trauma on her...never gave her wings to fly but always cutting it off...She was physically abusing her in front of strangers...and you think her lower self esteem is only bcz of Ani....I don't think so....in Kashmir it didn't come to forefront because there she was with her mother.... and her own land it was..Which was exposed a lot after her coming to BH and yes...with all the trauma together it got worse...that I agree...

For that matter don't you think even Ani's confidence has taken a serious drop after him falling for Jhanak...... I think so... Their love for eachother have made both of them weak...in a way....

Sooo yes...Ani has done many mistakes....he needs to repent... rectify...for sure....A Character growth from him is what all of us want...but but..that doesn't mean he is selfish, deceitful or anything...He is just a very very good hearted flawed human-being trapped in a very complex situation...where for the first time he found a genuine connection but it came with a "forbidden" tag....In fact Kaash Ani thoda selfish hota ..toh life me thoda khush rehta....

That's what I feel for both our leads...it is not wrong to be a little selfish...

He would never stand up for himself. He never has. He was and is always been someone who would be others’ support and their saviour.

None at home esp his parents have made him priority. No one prioritised him till now and so he doesn’t as well.

He doesn’t wanna disappoint his parents if its for his own feelings as well. He is used to putting himself on a backseat.

He wanted to fight if J chose him. He would’ve fought if she loved him. But she doesn’t . She didn’t choose him. For someone he loves also he wasn’t her priority. So whats the use of fighting? What would he gain ? He would end up disappointing his family and J if he left Charshi. J promised him and reminded him every single time he had to stay with Arshi. And his family’s stance we all know.

Unless something drastic happens with J or J confesses she loves him too, he wont fight.

Man needs to fight for himself once 🥲🥹😭
