They could have brought an angle that Yash had a half brother who was Prem's child and Yash' family always mocked his illegitimate status. Ultimately he got insane/died so Yash hates Prem's family.

That would have made much more sense than this. And would have also kept open the door for romantic angle.

But obviously Prem who created a samadhi for Bhoomi's first son, would have definitely cared for his. So ye nhi dikha sakte. Prem parmatma can't make a mistake
