well said asmi... i agree with you maya and rekha... banning isn't a solution for sure.

But without question it makes me wonder about the influence on society. We as educated individuals know how to differentiate between what is wrong and right but that is not true for a major part of society. We teach kids but I really wonder what about the uneducated part of society. I know this is a larger discussion but not related to this one show...

If anything this show teaches well a woman needs to be like a "cow", mundi hilao and say yes... ignore the vile intent of people, and live on ... hitting appu di i know its something that happens but I just wonder, if if they showed family actually acting more humanly to her, how wonderful that be?Someone might be hitting a special kid like hers at home and when they watch the show they will think they are doing the wrong thing and she needs to be supported instead. But no they chose to show the opposite.

According to this show, all married women on this forum are not married in correct manner and our weddings are fake lol! There is taking creative liberty and there is just abusing creative liberties! And iTV has forgotten the difference.

Are Only movies/shows the problem? For example Sexual assault and violence against women has been taking place since time known to mankind, what is the solution to this? GOT, which is such a popular show worldwide, explicitly showed the brutal torture against women and how they have always been treated as second class citizens, how their consent never matter and how they are mostly only viewed as an object of desire and lust, with no feelings of their own, and it’s set in the Middle Ages, when there were no films to show to the public. I know movies can influence impressionable minds and send wrong messages too, but what about the areas where people don’t watch them and still have this criminal mindset....

Banning is wrong I also believe bcz how long are you gonna protect kids like this! Specially in today's time...rather allow them to know all kinds of information..but yes it's interpretation is what parents can help...let the child teach properly and let him diffentiate wrong and right...if you protect them like this then when they will encounter the first negetive thing they would not know how to react...

But these makers also need to be responsible....there is a difference between showing something and gloryfying it...

I am more concerned about the characterisation of Jhanak in our show...bcz about marriage rituals toh anyone can say it is rubbish...they are showing bakwas...but these characterisation of female as this victim sacrificial lamb ,who is always taking humiliation...and tortured by everyone is what bothers me a lot...bcz they are kind of glorifying it as ideal woman behaviour..with everyone around saying you must be like Jhanak....it is definitely not good standard for woman.....can be more harmful for woman...
