At this point Arshi is definitely her responsibility...he was going to marry her..on the mandap this happened to her..

Whatever his reason was he made that choice....and now when Arshi is at her lowest he can't backout.....for him his responsibility is more important than everything....more than love and he himself.... I mean he married Jhanak to save her life...when he was in a commited relationship with Arshi... when Jhanak was nobody...toh abb toh Arshi.is someone whom he knew since so many years ..and liked her and cares for...

Baat mandap tak nahi Jani chahiye thi....it is dragged till so far...

But is it actually dragged or it is what their intention was all along...we will find out...
