Imo this is exactly why Abhira was stopping Armaan from talking to Rohit at that moment. Rohit is hurt both physically and emotionally and lashing out. He wouldn't listen to armaan in this mental state. While abhira definitely has no business speaking between them, at times it's easier to understand the situation from a third party perspective, especially who has dealt with something similar before... Like vidya and abhira's conversation.

I can understand the timing part that Ab was right and he should not have confronted him so soon. But still don't understand why Ab should be the one mediating. Should it not be Vidya? Her conversation supposedly gave clarity to Ab. Won't Rohit listen to Vidya better?

Abhira is not saying she's in same exact situation. But she can understand his pain and confusion much better and probably get through to Rohit better. She has seen the person she loves almost marry another, learned of his past through 3rd Person. Rohit also similarly has felt cheated, heartbroken. Theres a reason why V got through to Abhira. She has been made to feel like the "other woman" in her own marriage but she also knows what its like to mess up by holding on to bitterness only. She could also give facts that Ruhi wanted shaadi. Not armaam. Thats why she could get through to Ab.

Abhira is the only one who can understand both Armaan and Rohits pov. She's there for Armaan firmly now.

Hopefully some anger is also reserved for Ruhi and his own dadi, maa when he learns full truth.

Rohit himself had told Abhira that no one in the house tells or rebukes him for anything, including when he is rude with his brother. Abhira was the only one to do that...maybe she remembers that and hence believes others would just let rohit be?? Thats my best guess.

Armaanza going down on Rohit… I mean on his knees.
