Why would Abhira do this?? She will stay with Goenkas and keep contacts with Poddar's. Will help them whenever needed.

When there is a conflict of interest, you cannot be true to your profession. That's why it is illegal to represent a client where there is a conflict of interest.

I don't think you can compare the two incidences - here the client wants Ruhi to go to jail for an accident. She wasn't drunk, it was nighttime as well, and it seemed the guy appeared from nowhere. Jail is very extreme, I don't think you would wish that upon anyone.

That's Ruhi, but Abhira is different, right? She shouldn't stoop down to her level.

There is major conflict of interest in this case. No way any client or court will let Abhira handle a criminal case with these circumstances.

But it's ITV so I don't expect much.

Exactly right. Of course, at the end of the day you have to act upon the client's instruction, however, as a lawyer it's your job to advise your client about the risks and the right course of action. If the client doesn't take your reasonable legal advice, then this can be a reason for you to not act for the client further because they are not following reasonable legal advice.
