Well if I analyse Ani's pov..which is very tough right now ...

What he is scared of the most is loneliness..he knows if he calls off the wedding then his parents will disown him....bcz of his own values,he does value Arshi as a friend...so he will hurt and lose her friendship as well ..(that's not very important though)...but after losing all this will Jhanak accept him...???

Her " Arshi Dii" Jaap is making him doubtful about that..he thinks may be Jhanak will cut all the existing ties if he calls off wedding with Arshi....

Then he will be alone....for someone like Ani the thought of being alone can be terrifying...as he has never been comfortable with who he is...he might be scared of the inner demons that will haunt him forever...

But the way he is choosing to deal with this with performance...and fake smile ,dance and PDA is ....he is mad rn..
