As for ZPKB and GM hot comparisons. I’m watching both shows and enjoying them immensely. However in all the ratings and opinions discussions it’s important to keep in mind keh
- ZPKB isn’t made like your typical social issue based drama. I’m sorry but why is everyone “surprised” keh it’s getting ratings *despite* it being a social drama. Yes it has social messaging but so does GM. They’ve got their preachy elements but are also very plot and character driven. So no, ZPKB has a very regular drama feel and anyone watching it isn’t going to feel it’s social cause driven. There’s a lot of heart in the story. Saife’s last show set in a village Jhok Sarkar had a similar setting and social messaging but it was considered commercial. So for me ZPKB is a well made drama and should be compared like a regular drama
It’s got Sajal Aly and replaced IM - which got massive ratings. So of course given how it’s not your typical social drama and has a big name and is following IM, the ratings / views aren’t groundbreaking. But yes it does deserve all the critical acclaim it’s getting.
- GM: I’ve heard a lot “despite promotions it did so and so” - which channel doesn’t promote its shows ? Green of all channels has to because it doesn’t have the eyeballs other channels do. When Green first started out with shows like KP, 22 Qadam, Jindo, Nauroz they had hype because of the new channels curiosity factor and lot of of people tuned in. But if you see their ratings ? Pretty dismal. Its standard 1-2 TRPs for the hits and below 1 TRP for most of Green’s shows. KP touched over 3 TRP only a couple of times and that’s it. So the whole debate of GM versus KP is bogus because GM is exactly following the pattern Green’s shows have always followed.
Now coming to critical acclaim - it’s getting it consistently every week. And it might not be everyone’s cup of tea but those who are liking it are loving it because it’s a different screen altogether and it’s dealing with sociopolitical aspects of society. We all expected it to be a masala crime thriller but clearly it’s not that at all. But despite that people are appreciating the story and performances.
as for Comments depends where you go, who you follow and which comment section you are in. Agar aik crib ker raha hai tou 5 tareef bhi ker rahe hain. This isn’t your usual female centric story which most audience is used to watching. If anything it’s probably catering to male audience more
But still it’s doing well for Green and is at par in views with Hum tv which is good.
Dono achay shows hain. Don’t see the point of dragging down one to uplift another
Many are watching and enjoying both , even on this forum.
