Its a weird situation
Abhira has always been curious of his past. She was keen to see who was this girl that affected him so much.
If it wasn't Ruhi she'd easily get over it and not care
Knowing it is Ruhi impacts her a lot because even though he has picked her over Ruhi now, he has a soft corner for Ruhi. For the longest time she has been a 3rd person in their marriage. She has seen him confide in her always. Call her bff. Call her "perfect" bahu and partner
The insecurity and uncertainty of him suddenly loving her after dumping who he thought was "perfect" will play on her always.
If he can get over Ruhi who was supposedly perfect for him how long will it be before he gets over her who his family hates.
So how can she trust him to lifelong be there for her.
Thats why the promo line of Abhira makes a lot of sense and is very natural reaction - yesterday you loved Ruhi, now you say you love me, tomorrow it may be someone else. After seeing his bff stuff with Ruhi and how he says Ruhi is "mature, perfect" etc , if he claims he never really loved Ruhi then why should she believe that his feelings for her arent just a temporary thing stemming out of just force of habit and guilt maybe. It is very normal to question him about his "love". Armaan himself thought he "loved" Ruhi for the longest time. Infact until mussoorie resort stuff also he was telling himself in a monologue that he can't feel anything for Abhira and that he loves Ruhi but can't be with her. He thought he "loved" her, and thats why he agreed to write shiv -shakti etc.
It took him a long time to realize that he was just guilty about Ruhi and never actually loved Ruhi and that his emotions for Abhira are very different than Ruhi. And true love is different from infatuation and guilt
When it took him so long to realize it, Abhira who is just learning of it will take time to get over her hurt, confusion and lots of insecurities which will arise from this revelation. Uparseh she had reason to feel like he could have guilt over her state as orphan just like he felt guilt for Ruhi getting widowed.
She has no one else except him. She stands to lose a lot more than him if their relationship doesn't work out. And if she's in for heartbreak anyway , in her mind she'd rather just disconnect now instead of reconciling with him , having hopes of together forever and then seeing that crash and burn. She needs to be convinced that their love story can actually work out.
