I have to disagree here about what happened last night being his physical need... it was not.
I wrote about it in my episode review at length about what emotions were at play there. The fear of losing Jhanak, thinking this was the last night of his life with her... It was his fear of losing her driving him than his physical needs...
When you think you are on the verge of losing one person you love in your life, that thought cripples you. For Ani Jhanak is his life, losing her is equal to losing his life. Everything else seems meaningless at that point, all you want to do is hold on to her, explain to her what she means to you with all your might, and make her stay. He was quite vulnerable that night
He did mention his hug this morning, yes, and I wrote about this in my today's episode review. but it was a decent thing to do. His motto is still making sure Jhanak stays in his life and he does not want to chase her way...
I agree with both Maya and Vira on defending Anirudh’s intentions. I may also have some disappointments with him for lack of acknowledgement when it comes to his feelings for Jhanak, but I will never for once doubt his intentions to desire Jhanak particularly for physical pleasure. If this would have been the case, he wouldnt have waited this long. He was mesmerized by her beauty even back then. He could have taken advantage of Jhanak when she fell ill and was vulnerable and weak in the hotel room alone. He could have claimed his husband rights without hesitation, but he didn’t do any of that.
He always protected her even alert her from the dangerous predators who could use her and throw her on the street. He was worried then and worried for her now.
However, his feelings are so scattered, disoriented, and inconsistent. This gives many to have doubts as I mentioned earlier to Vira. It’s not about physical desire in the wrong sense. There is nothing wrong if he fell in love with his wife in the process to find her a better life so he can remain at peace knowing she is safe. He did so much for her, spent time with her, got to know her better, respected her humbleness, appreciated her for her kindness towards his family.. how can these actions not make him fall harder for his wife? What he is doing right now is trying to understand a chaotic situation. He is struggling between his commitments with Arshi and his feelings for his wife. Nothing wrong if he searches for his comfort in the arms of his wife. Maybe his soul feel too burden to let things go. Jhanak’s pain made him suffered even more to the point that it made him sicker.
My only concern with him is that he finds quick solution to his turbulent emotions and realize what he confessed to Jhanak so he make better decision and not make things more complicated.
