And I could likely be way off base with the way I took it. Mine is just a plausible counter view. By the responses I can see it is an unpopular view

For me the physical attraction or the need to indulge is not a bad thing or a sign of disrespect, more so because they are a married couple, and tho he did coerce he did not force.Like emotional need a physical need is equally permissible in a marriage as long as there is consent and she did eventually put her arms around him. Like you said if at all they implied it - I would be happy because then ITV is def coming of age.

The way I saw it the part before SR is exactly as you portrayed. Little boy craving comfort, attention, love, security. Very scared of losing J and wanting to hold on to her. Post their hug and SR is when I felt the tone changed...everything bgm pulse urgency his plain annoyance at her saying ye sahi nahi hai and pushing him off, his response... J kya sahi hai our kya nahi hum baadh me discuss karenge...does that not sound like a need for emotional connect?.Usually emotional connect is calmer gentler. But - I could be reading too much into it. Also his answer to sindoor question was haq. Somehow today when he showed his annoyance I felt he was drawing out the haq card.

When J says - alawys mannmaani karne hai kya... he says

Mai ziddi hun and my bahut bura aadmi hoon, sirf tumhare liye, Jhanak mai tumhe kahi nahi jaane duunga.

For me this kind of meant, he is a very good upstanding person - except when it comes to her, he can do anything to keep her. Bura is an interesting choice of word here. what bura has he ever done to her than detain her in BH?

I dont think he did anything wrong, J says today why did i give in....will she really be wondering why she hugged Ani?

This forum is so pleasant and has so many povs that I enjoy spending time here, and seeing diff interpretations of the same episode. I dont know whether to say kudos to the makers for their ability to draw this kind of enagement or blame them for sloppy writing that in unclear and keeps everyone guessing what is going on

Keeping their unpredictable behaviour as thei usp of the show how far will they succeed! Most viewers are ok with the surprise element as I read on X , this show is like a drug and runak chemistry is making the show more addictive! Atleast they could cut down on the toxicity and focus on sub plots instead! And yes , please bring in a twist where there’s no shaadi for some good period of time!!

This man is very hard to decipher but he is def not one of the typical goody goody ML's so its difficult to figure out what he will do.

If that is the case, he could have slept with her completely, may be Janak would also have agreed. Why to just hug her and sleep. I don’t think so he was aroused and all. But yesterday itself I was not sure if he wants to hug her because of fever or for love. Since he said I love you. I convinced myself because of love. There is no logic behind Ani’s behaviour. He will get married with Arshi and keep Janak with him is the ridiculous thing told by Ani so far. We can only get his complete intention, once he comes back to Kolkatta what he is expecting from Janak.
