When Ani pushes J to do something Vs rest of the fam and Arshi, there is a difference. I googled up Manipulation Vs Persuasion:

In contrast, manipulation relies on cunning strategies that may undermine trust and individual agency. Understanding these distinctions is crucial in various fields, from marketing to interpersonal relationships.

So going against the popular opinion of the jhanak vasees, Ani persuades J and manipulates Arshi and most of his fam.

I think mostly he persuades eg Sandeep da, Choton, Kashmir police, Rahul (form what he believed), even Tejas (actually in this case dissuade) but his fam love for Arshi pushes him to manipulate and mostly to protect J. And I enjoy his manipulations and look forward to them.
