This show is anyway going to do better than other Geo dramas airing currently. Contrary to popular opinions here, Mein was a superhit drama & Wahaj definitely had a hand in its success even though his character hadn't much to offer.

Only thing that's making me skeptical is the writer now. He hasn't done a good job in GM, the neutral audience has already left & the most relevant critics i.e KDH ones have started criticizing the writing & direction of the show lately.

A show becomes a hit if it attracts the neutral audience. I hope the show is well written & is being able to impress the masses. Everything needs to click with them be it the writing, the direction or the actors. Otherwise the same team who had given the most watched drama of PTV won't be struggling with a rating of less than 2.

But, SMD indeed has a solid chance of getting good number and views. They have everything required: Two top actors as leads, Geo shows get good numbers, plus a love story..

The only hindrance would be the ema plot(if it's indeed true). I really hope it isn't ema plot. The hatred in Social media will be unimaginable..

If any one here have watched 'Silsila' starring Drashti, Shakti and Aditi, would know to what extent the bashing will take place..Drashti had to bear the brunt and none came forward to support her.

I hope smd makers know what are they doing and even if it's Ema they should take the accountability and safeguard their actors..

You guys are really overestimating Wahaj's popularity and audience pull. Yes, Wahaj had hype last year when Mein was on air but he is nowhere as popular as before. The data just doesn't support these claims about his craze. He is no Danish or Feroze or Bilal for sure.

Plus Maya, Hira and Usama have no audience pull. So don't count on them to bring in any viewers.

Neither is Haseeb known to give shows that generate huge TRPs.

Lastly, SMD will go up against KMKT with Fahad-Hania which will really eat into its views. KMKT is also a love story. Indeed, Farhat Ishtiaq writes better romance than KRQ and the love story in the teaser already looks very romantic, intimate and intense. KMKT is also going to be a more pure love story focused on 2 people -- the caption says it's the journey of two people through seven stages of love, and there aren't so many side characters & sideplots like SMD. Both Fahad and Hania look so hot. Fahad is being presented in full hero mode here. Hania looks divine. Tbh, KMKT already looks like the next blockbuster to me.

Ofc at the end of the day we don't know what will click or not but these are just educated guesses based on interpretation of facts, trend and details available at present.

Edited: I am not saying it's going to flop. I just feel a more realistic comparator is JeJ.

I obviously want smd to be like first option because all three movies did well with good word of mouth from srk the super star To Vikrant Massey who was not a star.

I agree with you hypno.

When srks of pak, humayun and Yumna's show is struggling to get ratings and yt viewership toh wahaj ka toh hype is recent one.

I think we should keep expectations low because the same writer's show with a maverick director like haisaam and ensemble star cast and comeback of biggest superstar of pak is a flop online and offline so you never know smd also might have the same fate as it has actors with no audience pull.

I agree 👍 Why are we only talking about Wahaj's popularity and expecting only him to bring in audience here? Maya is the biggest star among all the starcast. She has been in this industry for long time plus a movie star as well..So, definitely maya laye gi audience..
