That's a bit awkward if SMD promotions start when Yumhaj are on their USA/CAN tour. The tour dates are last week of July until end of first or second week of August.

Wahaj isn’t that active on SM lately anyway for it to interfere with anything. He can still do his routine drama promotion if it’s around the same time. How he usually posts the poster/teasers etc.

For the tour my expectations are Yumna’s insta and for SMD my expectations are from Maya and Hira’s insta

Smd is as important to wahaj as his other projects. Tours or no tours he has to promote the show. And his tour has nothing to do with his show, it's not as if his fans from pak and India won't be watching his show as it's clashing with his us tour. Humara toh kuch lena dena hi nahi hai tour se.

Awkward for 3 reasons:

1. Realistically, SMD hype on SM will be eroded by Yumhaj content from the USA tour. I would have preferred separation between the two dates so both can get their fair share of SM hype.
2. I was hoping that we may get a square table or something more than online posts during SMD promotions but that'll be not possible in this scenario.
3. The Yumhaj tour is sold on Tere Bin's name. Just look at promo videos and the ra ra ra re song used by organizers. Wahaj will be talking about Tere Bin on the tour (it's not a solo tour). It's just awkward optics that he is promoting Tere Bin while SMD which is about to drop he cannot talk much about on that platform.

Agar two timelines were separate both activities would have had their moment in the sun and their fans much happier too. Warna phir SMD fans ko hi lagna hai that SMD ki SM promotions and hype was compromised due to influx of tour content at the same time OR that this is SMD promotions time but Wahaj is prioritizing Tere Bin ki promotions and only doing bare minimum online promotion stuff for SMD.

The YumHaj tour might end up helping SMD. It can bring back the hype that Wahaj has lost in last 5-6 months. SMD initial views are completely dependent on him cos Hira, Maya and Usama have zero audience pull.

SMD will work if makers create interesting promos and there is a good amount of promotion & buzz created by them. When it comes to ratings, the TV viewers are not as same as Twitter users! Most of them won't even bother about the tour.

Tv audience needs to like the promos and be aware of the project and find it interesting enough to give it try

After that it totally depends on whether the show manages to keep them hooked or not.

Also, actors' hype plays a role but only to an extent otherwise every star's project would have worked. People are eagerly waiting for Wahaj to be back. Hopefully, he comes back with a project that is solid!

Hype doesn’t help at all in making a show hit or else gentleman would be number one in trps and YouTube views as it has number one stars. But instead we can see shows like radd leading trp charts and neutral audience liking it. I honestly want smd to be with zero promotions and want only posters teasers released and then it should become hit organically and connect with neutral audience. This only happens with solid script.

It’s coming on Geo and not on Green so views/TRPs won’t be an issue. Even 7pm slot shows on Geo do better than new channels.

I’m honestly not that worried. Like people have mentioned Geo has a loyal viewership PLUS Wahaj will bring numbers. As long as promos are good enough neutral audience will be interested to check it out
