I see Anuj and Anupama being called a cheating couple but I don’t see Anupama as cheating.
If Shrew knowing Anuj loves Anupama is still forcing, manipulating Adhya, and arm twisting Anuj into marriage and that is okay, then Anupama having feelings for her ex-husband is also okay.
If Shrew can be forgiven for her machinations (the cockroach thing to surface as her doing amongst other things) just because she was with Anuj these past few years and just because she is desperately in love with him, then Anupama having feelings for her ex with whom she lived as his wife is totally acceptable too.
One cannot switch off feelings is what I read, Shrew cannot be blamed for feeling the way she does, she is educated, young but she cannot control her emotions for Anuj and so she should be forgiven her despicable clinging on to Anuj, her emotional blackmail, her nastiness to Anupama, and her using Adhya to keep Anuj away from Anupama. Anupama on the other hand is to be blamed cos she is older and not in the throes of youth, should exercise constraint with her emotions towards her wayward daughter and her ex-husband both of whom she loves.
Shrew is alone and needs emotional support, her parents are dead (is that Anuj’s fault?) but she has no one except Anuj and Adhya (something amiss here, a young educated pretty woman with not a single friend, reeks of a character flaw perhaps?) so it is okay for her to manipulate Anuj. Anupama is alone but it is her own fault that she is alone (she has multiple friends but that is a character flaw as she is a loose woman who knows how to attract people, lol), and even though she does not cross the line with Anuj, her being friendly or comfortable with her ex with whom she shared a life as his wife in every sense, and whom she still loves, makes her a home wrecker even though there is no home to wreck except in Shrew’s own delusional mind and Adhya’s wishful thinking.
Anuj has to remain tied to Shrew cos she stayed with him these past few years. So I guess no divorce even if a couple fall out of love and the man or woman want an out? They are not married but I guess he has no way out cos Shrew loves him, he is to remain indebted to her for eternity, shackled to her cos she is alone in this world and is dependent on him for her happiness.
Still hoping against hope that Shrew is reclaimed to be the bubbly, confident, fair, clear headed character she was introduced to us as initially and that she bows out of the messy triangle in which she does not rightfully belong with head held high and without being smeared with the stench of the cockroach incident. Beggars cannot be choosers and viewers can but lament.
