If you think the first one is unreal BS idk how you'll react when you read what the second show was aboutsmiley37

Second was gross. smiley39

And honestly barring that incestuous shit it didn't look shocking or puke worthy. Maybe because Itv and movies have normalized and glorified EMA. smiley39

But Hasratein translates to desires/fantasies so show was true to name. smiley37smiley39

Ahead of the time for sure. smiley35smiley39

This might be a controversial view point but I don't know why but for some reason adultery/infidelity is called as so ahead of time and empowering and all that shit especially if a women does this. Like there have been so many shows and movies that glorify this endlessly. The first thing that comes to my mind is KANK (Kabhi alvida Na Kehna) and the most recent release Heera mandi. I mean WTF. How are these things acceptable to the society forget calling it Empowering and all that.

Imagine these things get so much praises and recommendations but stories like Baghban, Raanjhana, Vivah, Laapta Ladies don't get much buzz unless some people see it first and then it slowly spreads.

I know Raanjhana is an odd choice but Kundan Remained Loyal to Zoya till his death. To me Raanjhana is a cult expression of Love being everything. Of course bahut log ko toxic lagega but that's thier wish.

This was exactly my point behind those posts

The pukeworthy part was the comments hailing the show not the show itself , the show was just plain regressive

So it seems I've been summoned from being offline 👀 BAHAHAHAHA (Thanks Rinki for bringing my attention to this).

I haven't seen this show yet but since I've recently gotten back into watching Indian media, I shall give this show a watch and roast the characters to smithereens. smiley37

So you talked about KANK(kabhi Alvida Na kehna), I have to say that I find that movie really interesting...for what it did with SRK..

He had made his career by playing those charming, chocolate lover boy who sweeps the FL off their feet...his association with YASHRAJ FILMS & mostly Karan Johar ingrained those Raj and Rahul in our head...but here he played Dev...an utterly unlikable, rude, narcissistic human being...who is an epitome of sad toxic human being who always carries the bitterness in his heart and spills it on others, who resents the fact that his wife is more successful than him...after all this he broke the marriage vows and had an EMA...

Karan Johar himself dissected the image of SRK as king of romance that he himself was a building block of...It has to be one of the most interesting Choice by SRK for this reason only....

The issue is KANK wasn't EMA to me, that was the acceptance of EMA, it showed like EMA was OK.... Both Abhishek and Preity asked Rani to go to SRK as she deserved happiness (like what more happiness could SRK give him over what Abhishek did)

SPK was narcists since the start, in the first scene when he was still not handicapped, he was being unnecessarily rude to Preity, calling her out that she is jealous that SRK will earn more than her (while she was genuinely happy to know this)

Both Preity and Abhishek were perfect partners, its ok if they wanted to show that even perfect partners might not be your love, but why show that EMA shall be ok if you don't love, cheating is OK
