Meerab's introduction was as someone who wants to be a lawyer who fights for women's rights and went on the street to fight with the man who was hitting his wife

Same Meerab couldn't do anything when Maa Begum slapped her, this woman who is going to be a lawyer didn't raise questions against a mother abusing her daughter in law

Meerab always got in trouble when she went outside the house alone to put out a thought supporting that women should listen to their husbands and not go out alone or they'll end up in dangerous situations

Meerab's every action led to bigger issues from supporting Anas to forgiving Mallik Zubair

A lawyer advocated that Murtasim should forgive a man who abducted her and shot Bakhtu

Meerab also was used to spread the message that women shouldn't fall in love or hang out with men in college with Marium's lover being Mallik Zubair and her college friend being psycho wall guy

Honestly, Meerab as a character is much more dangerous to cause of feminism than toxic men because you can easily call one out while other just supports the misogynistic views of writer and society

See I don’t believe that to be true. This is one of Yumna’s loved if not most loved characters, hands down. And this was a show where both characters were flawed so it’s balanced in that sense. Both were not saints. Her mention of views is perceived as arrogance when the meaning is pretty clear imo. Meerab’s popularity is itself a jawaab keh people loved her. I personally think the question was rudely posed and coming from a man it was not shocking. People are used to seeing doormat FL bending over backwards to please the ML and be agreeable lol. And Meerab did not of that. So of course it rubs people the wrong way. So typical misogynistic take in that question and I like that Yumna was having none of that 🙌🏽

Kind of agree with this take keh if she wasn’t adored and loved Abhi tak hum pagal na hotay uss ke baray main. So Yumna just focused on how much it’s loved. Keh theek hai she didn’t click with you but facts are keh click kiya tha with a lot of people

First of all, I want to clear that I am not yumna or wahaj's hater. Infact, I guess you don't know that I was one of the active member in TB threads. I actually lived a journey with Meerasim. And liked this onscreen jodi a lot. And I do like Yumhaj as actors. But in likeness, I don't get blind. If I don't like anything about my favorite, I do address that.

Meerab and Murtasim both were flawed characters. I did like them but I did criticize them too when they went wrong.

Meerab was loved character just because yumna performed it so well otherwise it's badly written.

Here i disagree, Kashaf from zgh, sanam baloch's character from kankar, imaan from radd etc are strong headed characters too but people do love them. It's not about being doormat, it's about how a strong character is written and executed, undoubtedly, yumna did tremendous job as meerab but still it does not make this character as best one.

Same goes with murtasim. Initially, I also used to think that both of them are flawed yet interesting characters but as story progressed, I did not like how they treated meerab and murtasim too and story became illogical too.

Tho, I would love to see yumhaj together in a well written drama.
