Lakshmi, I think avi garika posalu kada ...Manam vinayakuniki samarpistam. Garika has the power to remove negative energy. During solar and lunar eclipse time will places garika on food items like pickles, grains, pulses etc...

Payesh is auspicious and a must, setting a certain breed of fish free in a well / pond is a ritual that apparently ensures longer life- this was my grand mom’s grand touch, died with her !

Also preparing the favourite delicacies for the bday boy/girl.

In short, you would be made to feel very special on the day.

Didn’t watch the epi yet Lakshmi, but if it’s the same stems like J received during her ashirwad, then

It is Durbo ghash (Durva grass)

It grows wild, and we used to have fun plucking them up! You also have to ensure they are 3 leaves in a stem when plucking them.

Considered auspicious and is always used while blessing some one, during a puja/ ceremony!
