In today's fast-paced world, we crave everything in bite-sized pieces, from 15-second reels to brief tweets. However, one art form that can never lose its charm, irrespective of its word length, is storytelling.
The LGBTQAI+ community is a rich tapestry of stories, of love, bravery, and pride, and we want to celebrate these narratives.
Presenting to you
But what's a celebration without a little fun? We're turning this into a contest to be held throughout June.
The challenge is simple: pick a word from the previous microtale and use it in your own.
Scroll for the rules
Microtales should be between 15-20 words in length.
Each microtale must include a word chosen from the previous tale. Highlight the selected word by making it bold or giving it a different colour.
You can only pick one word from the previous microtale.
Articles, prepositions, and copulas cannot be chosen.
Each participant must wait for at least one other participant to post before contributing another microtale.
Stories should be written in English, though a few Hindi words are permitted.
No sign-up is necessary; join in at your convenience.
Please claim your turn and the word you have picked from the previous story. You are allowed to a different word from the previous microtale before posting yours.
You have 24 hours after claiming to post your story, or another person can claim next.
The plot of your story must be completely different from the previous one. You cannot use the same characters as the previous microtale or any of your previous microtales.
To avoid spamming and just one person taking over, each player can submit only 5 microtales in 24 hours.
Your microtales can feature characters from TV shows, movies, web shows (in any language), or original characters; except any mythological character.
Your microtales can be of any genre, except mythological genre.
Your stories can feature homophobia/transphobia as long as it isn't glorified. We will remove any story that features prejudice and hate against the community. If three such microtales are removed, you will be barred from the game.
Follow IF COC and Fan Fiction rules while writing stories.
The game will end on 25 June 2024, 11.59 PM IST.
Participants will earn points based on the relevance of the chosen word, with pride-related words and stories earning the highest scores.
Scoring shall be solely at our discretion including determining whether a word is related to pride or not and its context, although you are free to provide explanations.
So, what are you waiting for? Dive into the fun and join us in this exciting celebration of storytelling where every word counts and celebrate the diversity and strength of the LGBTQ+ community.
