This post confirms the current year in yrkkh is 2024. That means at the beginning of season 3, the year should be 1994, and the beginning of Season 2 should be around 1964. The beginning of the show should be 1934, pre independence era when there no television and mobile phones.

Don't know much about laws regarding marriage annulment but from what I understand, it needs solid reason and has a long process. It was only rohit who knew about this and he did not even submitted it in court.

On the other hand, in divorce proceedings both parties were present and maybe poddars specially dadisa and fufasa has upar tak pahunch.

Though in real life it takes months at minimum for divorce........
