The pretense of a being golden daughter-in-law she had been building since day 1 was finally broken ruthlessly. Ruhi couldn't comprehend what to feel at that moment. She couldn't understand the look of betrayal on Vidya's face. She couldn't understand the look of disgust from Manisha, Manoj, and the younger clan. And more importantly, She couldn't understand Armaan's numbness at that moment. This was not what she expected. She always anticipated his initial reluctance for their alliance but neither his outburst nor numbness. She was genuinely waiting to be Mrs. Armaan Poddar. Moreover, She wasn't ready to come clean in front of the family. She was aware of the orthodox mentality that ran deep in the blood of Poddars. She thought she could put Armaan on task to convince his family. She, for a moment, questioned herself and her trust in Armaan. Wasn't he the golden boy of the family who never goes against his family? Then how did she think that he would be fighting for them? Maybe because though passively, he had time and again stood up for Abhira. If he could put his foot down for an uninvited responsibility, wouldn't he do that for their love? However, these questions could wait. She needs to handle the family forefront. And convincing Armaan would be a cakewalk post their acceptance. She wasn't even sure of what part of their conversation was heard. 

Kaveri couldn't identify the girl before her. Wasn't she the same simple, sweet, and kind-hearted girl who valued the relationships they had chosen for Rohith? How could she be this wrong while judging a person? Her attempt to justify her misjudgments about Ruhi that she was blinded by her hate towards Abhira didn't make sense now. Abhira couldn't be a reason for everything that was going on. As she re-winded the conversation that she had just heard, she realized Abhira had no involvement in this drama. This has been going on since Rohith's engagement. Vidya could now connect the dots. The sudden anger and withdrawal of Rohith towards Armaan just before leaving the house made sense now. Her heart broke thinking about Rohith's plight when he got to know the truth. However, she could not erase the image of the horrified look on Armaan's life when Ruhi brought up a marriage between them. 

Armaan could feel the ground beneath him slipping. He couldn't analyze any of their thoughts. All he could feel was guilt. Guilt that he kept his family in the dark till date, guilt that he had pushed Rohith into a loveless life, guilt that he had unknowingly given hope to Ruhi, guilt that he couldn't realize his feelings towards Abhira, and finally on how he had tarnished and let Ruhi tarnish his and Abhira's bond. That weighed like a ton on his chest. Added to that the constant mental pressure and irregular meals over a month took a toll and he collapsed onto the floor. Madhav and Manoj rushed to his side. Manisha caught hold of Ruhi's hand and dragged her out of the room. Upon a quick medical checkup, the doctor informed the reason had to be stress. As the chorus gang sat by his side, elders walked out of the room. The moment Vidya's eyes fell upon Ruhi who was walking across the hallway, a hard slap landed on Ruhi. Manisha held Vidya back restricting her further. Ruhi was flabbergasted. 

Wasn't Vidya praising her just a while back about how well she was taking care of her family post-crisis? As she took a step towards Vidya to explain her, Kaveri cut her off. Kaveri expressed her deep regrets about how she had misjudged Ruhi. She questioned her moral values of marrying the brother of her said love. She questioned the motives behind her moves. She questioned her pretense of being a good daughter-in-law to stay near Armaan. She questioned her manipulations against Abhira. Ruhi was more than appalled to hear that. Abhira did it again. She had snatched everything for her. Ruhi started with her well-versed version of loving this family as her own. She mentioned that she was never against Abhira for personal reasons and was only protecting the Poddar family from her. She vowed that she never wronged Rohith and she had tried to give him a fair chance. She blamed her misfortune that Rohith had been taken away from her. She wasn't aware that she was triggering Vidya with her monologue. Vidya couldn't hear any more lies. She couldn't even see Ruhi's face without feeling disgusted. She condemned Ruhi for taking rohith's name from her filthy mouth. She called her out from wrecking the house apart. Vidya was backed up by Manisha. Manisha revealed that she had seen her attempts to get close to Armaan. Madhav blamed her for breaking apart Armaan and Abhira. Manoj along with Kajal accused her of using Charu's relationship/life as a pawn to oust Abhira from the house. Meanwhile, Kaveri rang Goenka's house asking them to take Ruhi back. 

Armaan slowly regained his consciousness. As he saw his cousins by his side and registered the absence of Vidya he started to panic. Vidya always made sure to stay by his side when he was sick. Her absence meant he was going to lose his mother again. And he couldn't tolerate that. He would make sure that he was heard this time. Nine months of companionship with Abhira made him understand that he had a right over his people and that he shouldn't give up without a fight. He would do just that. He would make them understand his point of view. As the chorus gang saw his panic-stricken face and his failed attempts to rise from the bed, they held him back. Charu had gone out to fetch the family alerting about his condition. As everyone rushed to the room with raising concerns, Armaan held on to Madhav, babbling, apologizing, and explaining his point of view. He would glance at his mom and dadisa time and again for validation. He recounted his every encounter with Ruhi. That shed some more light on Ruhi's gaslighting skills. Though they were miffed that the truth had been kept hidden, they could understand his plight. They could understand that Ruhi triggered his guilt from time to time. They couldn't help but wonder how had he managed to cope with everything. And finally, he confessed about his marriage being a verbal deal of 1 year as they weren't ready for a sudden marriage but now he realized that he is in love with Abhira and how much he missed her presence. He pointed out that she in a real sense became his family without burdening him with her expectations. Madhav's heart broke for his son. It took him a while to put him back to sleep after giving him some juice and medicines.

PS- I know many of you might feel that I had whitewashed/victimized Armaan's character. But please keep a note that in this FF, Abhira walked out right after Charu's fiasco. In my opinion, Armaan's character arc had been good enough till then (except for a slight degradation in Mussoorie track). Also, Vidya accepting Rumaal didn't sit well with me. It is out of character for a Poddar with their orthodox mentality, to accept a relationship between BIL-SIL. However, I know this is ITV and such a thing isn't new here.
