It's not just Ruhi; except Abhira, he is the same with everyone, non-confrontational, forgives them easily, and tries to understand their POV, but he is ruthless towards Abhira. I have 2 takes on precap :-

1) It is shot jyst for sake of precap/promo only and the main scene would air with different outfits.

2) By being delulu, Ab saw V discussing soulmates marriage with dadisa in the same formal outfit and she has to give exam after that so maybe she is imagining it while writing her exams and that's why she'll underperform. Though this can be true in future too but talking about this particular scene.
