Finally saw it. It was a longgggg da-Yyyy 🥴

BUT omg SO worth the wait? I absolutely loved it. The opening credits, the beaautifulll world building and SETS ! Did you see Zarnab’s house? Her living room? THE COLORS. I loved it. The old school furniture, tv. So many cute details !

The wardrobe, the intros ! Ufffff. So much attention to detail ! Kya entry thi Zarnab ki lol. Full bw heroine style hahahaha. Loved it 😍 Her first interaction with Munna was super cute. He was so clueless? And in awe?
The Adnan Humayun scene was hilarious. When he asks him to raise his hand for the oath he raises BOTH his hands in the beginning - I died 🤣 How instinctual lol

Too little of Adnan though in the first episode but excited to see more of him.

Dilbar seems fishy to me… and gave me disloyalty vibes … anyone caught that or not? He is holding a grudge for sure and he cursed Munna to suffer in lurveee so let’s see how far he’ll push him. I don’t get the vibe that he’s “enjoying” being poked fun at and wants to turn the tables around for once. So that dynamic has some suspense for me.

I have to also hand it to Zahid and especially Yumna (because that one sided phone call was longer in one scene and we only heard his voice), they acted out phone call conversations spot on. This is something that’s always so so cringe for me in dramas especially if it’s a zoom call/FaceTime or just a call. The acting is so cringe and fake but over here there was so much movement with the conversation and it flowed so naturally. So FINALLY someone is doing it right. Warna in these types of one sided scenes actors don’t have anyone to react at and they start “acting acting” and it’s just ajeeb. Glad that wasn’t the case here. Very normal and not OTT.

Dialogues are very crisp and to the point. As was expected. No complaints there. The humor, the romance, the mafia language all came across in translation.

I do have 3 minor issues:

- Zahid’s moonch is clearly fake and kind of distracting. Hope he finds a better one to wear in the next episodes lol. But I did love his screen presence a lot. Excited to see more of him.
- they need to air it twice a weekkkk. The wait is too long man.
- how dare they not credit Saqib Sameer in the beginning. He’s such an established actor and obviously good. I’m guessing maybe it’s a cameo role? He does get shot next episode so perhaps he dies or something. But as usual he nails his roles and this was no different.

I know it’s just episode 1 but I’m already sensing a very angsty tragic love triangle so I’m SEATED. Invested in both Zarnab Faris (love the names by the way! Excellent choices) and Zarnab Munna.

Munna and Dilbar chemistry is spot on too. The two actors have a good flow in the scenes and I like the banter. Dilbar is definitely fishy for me for now but let’s see. Perhaps it’s deliberate

Humayun was HILARIOUS in the morning drinking his dozen cups of chai and not knowing who Muazzam was and what to do with him He was all “Nai larki ko nai utha saktay” lol

Dilbar must be thinking kuch aur dua maang leta tou shayad woh bhi jaldi qubool ho jati, given how quickly and efficiently his buddua worked on Munna

Given its 25 episodes or so that’s still 6 months of airing time which is a lot 😳 Idk I’m just spoiled by twice a week dramas now so I’m just getting greedy maybe lol. Hopefully the pace is good. Plot looks happening and first episode had no dull moments for me. Very engaging throughout.

I think once you get invested in the characters and arcs the pacing and once a week thing sort of falls in the background anyway. It’s the type of show that’s character driven so investment definitely bannay wali hai with each and every single one of them. I even found Zarnab’s dad cute - being all worried about his moo phatt beti lol

She looked soooo nice

I think I liked it more not because of a specific scene but because of the effortless switch between her boss lady looks at work versus the simple girl next door vibe at home. Loved the contrast. Usually same same hi hota hai more or less.

But here at home her hair is naturally disheveled and bilkul simple clothes with minimal makeup. She’s making chai on that old school stove, going on rickshaws, living in that cute sa apartment. And at work it’s the bold makeup for tv, blow dried hair, fancy clothes, heels, the works … plus the attitude 🔥

The juxtaposition is interesting

Dilbar seems more shrewd than Munna to me so idk 😂 other than the Munna name and having a sidekick I didn’t get a similar vibe. Language is very Karachi slang and no Mamoos were harmed

Plus you also have a boss here for Munna played by Adnan. Its a trio
