Goldy, I want to comment on:

"their sudden friendliness fizzling out"

On a party, Gauri invited PC to talk to her and made clear to PC what she thinks about her behaviour towards her husband.

PC's reaction had been to made her PR bringing out an article about housewives of superstars who are insecure about their husbands (years before PC already had to deal with Twinkle who didn't want that Akshay continues to work with her). This time she clearly alluded also to Gauri.

Karan Johar then - unwarrantedly - barged in with a PC-criticising tweet (which stirred the pot). I bet neither Gauri nor SRK had been happy about that as that later fuelled the rumour that PC got ousted.

So, it had been PC and KJo who were responsible for an open "friendliness" to end. One can bet that PC didn't look for the reason in herself...she doesn't even after more than 10 years. Well, there are a lot of people who nourrish grudges (justified or not) for the rest of their lives.

Exactly! "hinting"...

1) It could be that SRK gifted her his Don jacket at the last wrap up (he gifted Farah a luxury car, e.g., and he certainly hadn't an affair with Farah) and the boyfriend could have been a deliberately used expression as it has multiple meanings.

2) The jacket isn't a unique item...she could have bought one because SRK sported one...and the whole statement was a lie (PC knowing that SRK wouldn't openly contest as he never reacted to any affair rumour with her - except the statement that people like to make wrong conclusions on appearances).

3)It could have been that one of her former lovers also had such a jacket she took with her.

Voilà, it's one's choice what he/she prefers as narrative.

My own take is clear and without any doubt.
