I was just thinking the same thing

I think I saw some clips where whole family is dancing. Surely arshi will dance, Tammi and Tammi are dancing aur it seems jhanak also 🤦🏽‍♀️ of course jhanak ko Tana marenge… and bipasha hai hi overly excited jethani invading everyone’s private space. iss sab me we will see j & a ghurifying at each other 👀👀 Hogaya inaka ! 3-4 episodes nikal Gaye inake!

The pace at which they're going.....its still an understatement smiley37

1st May episode - Jhanak went to bank......

5th May episode & its still the same day & even 6th May it'll continue.....

For a simple routine day, if they can make 6 episodes, imagine how many episodes they can stretch this Ashirwad......lets nt forget All the dance performances also included in the ceremony smiley29smiley29 smiley37

Hey Aarna,

No during the ashirwad ceremony, there usually is no singing and dancing. But this being itv, I think I saw a clip where Ani-Arshi, Bips- Laal also dancing. Mauka parast makers, nachane ka yeh chance chodenge nehi !

J is probaby dancing coz her pyaari Shrishti maasi has asked her to, in order to humiliate her, apni didi ki ceremony hai, tum nachogi nehi ?

For the nach gaana, there is a concept of Bashor Raat Jaga(Staying awake on the night of the wedding), where post the wedding and khana peena, mostly friends and bhai/behen of bride and groom , together with the bride and groom stay awake all night, amidst chit chats and nach gaana !

As for the Ashirwad ceremony, it can happen on the day of the wedding, a day before the wedding or say couple of weeks or a month before the wedding, depends from family to family!

It is esssentially where the elders of both families bless the bride and the groom and the would be couple touch their feet to seek blessings. It's a ceremony of acceptance, where the bride and the groom are accepted by their respective in-laws. Gifts are also part of the blessings, so they receive gifts and jewellery in abundance smiley37

Waise Arshi toh accepted hai already, Ani bechara is neither accepted in his sasural or mayka smiley37

A similar ceremony also happens, post wedding, when the bride enters the groom's house, where relatives and neighbours from the groom's side shower blessings and gifts to the bride and groom.

As for the tottyo, which was about the gifts that they stretched, over 3 episodes - Tottyo Sajano (decorating the gifts) is an exciting event, where both sides could kill with their creativity and unique decorations smiley1

Tottyo (gifts in small/big trays, could be as many as 100 trays like Bips was telling Rumi) are sent from the groom's house to the bride's place and vice versa. Each tray is dedicated to a member of the family, dadaji, dadi ji, tao ji, tai ji, chacha chahi, nanad , bhaiya bhabi. If you happen to be the groom's sister (nanad) your gift is super special (nanad putli they call it).

There are trays with outfits, saris, make up kits, shoes, toiletries for the bride.

Trays with sweets (mishti) and a whole fish (usually a carp as fish is considered auspicious) smiley1

Unwrapping the gifts and distributing it amongst the relatives is an event and can result in banters like "tera gift mere se better hai" etc. smiley36

Thanks a lot for giving glimpse into these rasms smiley27

Ashirwad rasm is also present in Telugu culture - reason is the same - acceptance of the bride, gifting her jewellery & saris, but again No music/dance.

So its Bashor Raat, not Suhaag Raat here for Ani smiley37

Good to hear that you have a similar rasm in Telegu culture smiley27

Suhaag raat ke liye thoda waiting rehta hai, bechare dulhah dulhan smiley37

Wedding Night - Bashor Jaga

Next Night - Kaal Ratri - Dulha Dulhan alag kamre mein sote hai in the sasural ( I think warding off evil eyes / nazar lagna etc.)

Next Night is D NIGHT - Bou Bhaat and Reception Party at Groom's followed by Suhaag raat

In Andhra, the ceremony is called Pradhanamsmiley1

I've heard of 3 nights concept in Telugu culture too, but all like SR only, not BJ,KL,SR smiley4

I just love how diverse the Indian states are, but all have similarities smiley27
