Dialogues are the problem. She could've been more nuanced - like she did with the accusation on Virat after the bhaang incident. She could've said your mom can taunt us, say things to humiliate us but she wont do this. and she is right in that. If writers have to be true to characterizations, then firstly for an arranged marriage Aaji, Bhavani or Jahan won't get second hand type alliances for Amruta, aka any divorcee or widower as prospect groom for her. So Virat doesn't fit here.

Aaji, Bhavani will prefer Marathi educated working class bachelors from their community for Amruta, so Abhiraj also won't fit.

Yeah Jahan being Punjabi herself and as badi maa can coax Amruta's family to consider some Punjabi grooms as well, if anyone is too good, respectful, open minded, mature, lovable and compatible to Amruta.

But Aaji, Harsha, Jahan won't accept even a Punjabi groom for Amruta if he is from this rich egoistic showoff Ahuja's family mainly related to Babita, even if naive Bhavani melts to say ok.

If its love marriage, Amruta herself proposes and seeks her family blessings to marry her BF, dynamics may change for better. But still for current state of Ahuja family Aaji, Harsha, Jahan will be skeptical to send Amruta into that snobbish joint family, may suggest her to seek to live separate from Ahuja's after marriage.

Aaji had her doubt on peanut that he is behind amu .While gautam was showing his interest in peanut more then amu.

That flat peanut bought they can use after marriage.... but amu won't prefer staying separate.
