I think the shooting went on for so long because they shot it in every season. In the present it was winter, in the past it was summer and in between autumn might be shown.
That's one thing I love about kdramas. South Korea has all the 4 seasons and the drama uses that well.

I do find JCW good but not all his works are extraordinary. His choices of scripts are very boring sometimes. I anticipate his future projects but then don’t end up watching them.I haven't watched any of her dramas except dots but she is among the few kactresses who I find extremely beautiful and agrees with Koreans. Else most of the time I don't like the ones Koreans praise for the beauty.
