I think the shooting went on for so long because they shot it in every season. In the present it was winter, in the past it was summer and in between autumn might be shown.

That's one thing I love about kdramas. South Korea has all the 4 seasons and the drama uses that well.

Anaa is quite good in drama. But hands down tha show is Altamash and Izza.
