1. **Research**: Take the time to research the platforms and policies of each political party. Consider what issues are most important to you and align with the party that best represents your values and beliefs.

2. **Reflect on Your Values**: Think about what values are important to you, such as social justice, environmental sustainability, or economic policies. Choose a party that aligns with these core values.

3. **Consider the Candidates**: Look at the specific candidates running for office in your area. Consider their experience, stance on key issues, and track record to help inform your decision.

4. **Seek Different Perspectives**: Engage in discussions with friends, family members, or online forums to gain different perspectives on the political parties and their policies.

5. **Trust Your Instincts**: Sometimes, after doing your research, it may come down to trusting your instincts and choosing the party that resonates with you the most. Remember, it's okay to take your time and consider all aspects before making a decision. Trust in your ability to make an informed choice based on what aligns best with your beliefs and values.

no typo, but I agree...they will win (which I stated more than once).

There is little to instill confidence...

I wonder if it may result in a very poor voter participation.

Whatever...I'm convinced that one will make sure that the BJP party gets the needed votes.

One? - Entire election commission will make sure that BJP wins.

I chose "one" for not naming all the possible supporters I have in mind...

People victimizing the judiciary are so ignorant. It's the most corrupt and blood sucking institution in India that gets away with all its crimes against humanity.

As a first time voter in 2019 general elections, I did my own research.

BJP

Bad for social fabric

Women empowerment, LGBTQ rights, minority rights, state agencies, judiciary

Ye sabki band baja rakhi hai power mein wapas aa gayi to aur sab kharab ho jayega

Congress

Bad for economy

Ye log 1lac baatenge aur uska paisa kaha se ayega?

Upar se constitution ammendment karke reservation cap ko 50% se increase karne ki baat ho rahi hai

Dono hi party chutiya hain aur mere koi kaam ka nahi hai

I recommend 2 options:

  1. Ekam Sanatan Bharat: A new party launched in March last year, w/ sapta-sankalps about preserving Bharat as a Sanatani civilization. They also released a manifesto a few weeks ago that addresses all sorts of issues. If you are opposed to reservations, they have come upon the most realistic and practical way of solving that, and eliminate it in a lot of scenarios, such as promotions. On social issues, they're not w/ the 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ crowd but actually deal w/ real issues threatening the family unit. On the economy, it's a bit spotty, but w/ the number of initiatives that they have, a lot of the employment issues could end up being solved. Their manifesto can be viewed from their site, only issue - it's only in Hindi so far (at the time of this writing). Their main shortcoming is that they only have ~100 candidates this election cycle, and have been assigned 3 different symbols by the Election Commission depending on state: flute 🪈, diamond 💎 and triangle 🔺, so if you don't see their candidate, there's option 2
  2. NOTA. My only problem w/ NOTA: the plurality candidate still wins. Ideally, if NOTA wins an election, all the candidates who polled fewer than NOTA should be disqualified, and a new by-election should be held

I totally get what you're saying.

For me, the most important issue is the supreme power that the ruling govt yields. That needs to end. So, I know whom not to vote for. A change is the need of the hour.

Congress needs a major overhaul and is not really a good option for me but I'm kind of leaning towards it.
