They did show the destruction of the family very nicely. Right now everyone is spread out in different places, no one is together. I just hope every deserving character gets the same treatment that Kehkasha and Hareem are getting right now. On reflection, the scenes involving these both were always good and serving. Right now she is scared of losing Faiz and will do more mistakes & Laiba is clearly getting annoyed with her. But I guess she will stay at Hareem' home. I mean Faiz has to come face to face with Hareem one way or the other.
You’re right about it depending on what you’re invested in. Fortunately for me what’s happening in the story now IS what I was waiting for. The main thing for me was the downfall of that house, Kehkeshaan losing everything little by little and realizing the true faces of people around her. And basically getting what she deserves and hopefully learning from it. Hina Bayat is such a wonderful actress, I knew she would absolutely deliver and she is! For me this prolonged phase of realization from her side is novel because usually in dramas in the last episode the villain suddenly realises what they did wrong and turns over a new leaf - it’s all very abrupt, unrealistic and bizarre, not to mention lazy. Pakistani dramas struggle with closures anyway. So the fact that I’m getting that slow and painful journey of hers is a treat. I love to see her squirm lol. But then there’s also this quiet dignity and resilience in her which is admirable. Like when she gives some of her money to the house help today. So I love to see the different shades of her.
As for Hareem and Faiz, I’m not really invested in them but I do like them and want a happy ending for them. But it comes with conditions - Faiz has to deserve Hareem’s forgiveness first. And we have gone nowhere with that so far. I’ll admit that both were fools in their own right - Hareem for hiding the truth for so achingly long and not confiding in her clearly understanding husband - and Faiz for not meeting her at least once to clear things out. For me the crime is on both sides - both did dumb things. But since we have mostly focused on Hareem’s pov we are more sympathetic with her. She’s gotten some beautiful scenes which show her perspective on Faiz. Very well written.
I’m hopeful Faiz scenes which are impactful will come once his mom’s truth comes into the light. I think that will be his moment. When we will see some great scenes. Let’s see.
As for Mudassar n co, idk I find that chaotic family interesting 😂 The guilt ridden mom, the crazy wife and the man stuck between the two. I also kind of feel sorry for the wife here too because she’s as stuck as the guy. I’m hopeful that Hareem will help fix or at least inspire them to fix their domestic issues 🤣 I think Mudassar might propose to Hareem though but she will decline. And I also have a theory that he actually loves his crazy wife but thinks she will never love him back. I have thoughts about their crazy dynamic lol
The only reason I was tolerant of Hareem's dumbness was how overwhelmed she was with Faiz's love. She never expected it and it was too much too quick. If Kehkasha and Laiba hadn't threatened her on how they will turn Faiz against her, I think she would have confided with Faiz. But she was wrong in not trusting the only person who loved her in that house and she paid for it dearly. Lost her husband and her child.
Faiz on the other hand disappointed me despite not deliberately doing anything because he was so damn weak. He believed what Rayan said about the video because Rayan was the only one who supported Hareem's relationship and helped Faiz. In his pain, when his mother told he never differentiated between true and bad relationships, he regretted to not siding with his mom from before. But you forgot what you knew about Rufi and Hareem suddenly. The truth was that he already started believing his mom's lies before the video reveal happened. His mom said give divorce, he just decided to that so clinically. he was indirectly responsible for his child's death and he doesn't even know. He took Nasir to the mosque for a promise and believed that a scumbag like him would actually be god-fearing. no criminal even when standing in the court of law would promise on god and say I admit, they always lie. So what was the point. if it was that important, why not take Hareem to the mosque and ask her to promise. Then who will he believe. The fact is that he chose to believe the lies against Hareem and this is what Hareem caught on immediately. Like she told her dad, Faiz knows the way to this house but he is choosing not to. Hareem's love is not like Faiz's love, it's very strong. She is a very strong character. She impressed me when she told Kehkahsa on the first day to not challenge her love. She will probably love him till the end and make sure she will repay all the good things he did for her and her family, but she may chose not to be with him because of this very reason. It all depends on how they plan to show what Faiz does after he knows the truth. The only excuse I have left for Faiz is that his weakness and immaturity is stemming from his young age. he hasn't really faced the world to know what is right and wrong and hence has a weak character. Hareem grew in poverty, faced struggles and she can decide between what is right and wrong.
Faiz does deserve her forgiveness and I think she will forgive him easily but will not get back. Hmm...Sad story for me.
