I've read articles now that have talked about how Raazi's box office was also inflated. It was less understood and known back then so Raazi kinda got away with it but now with more awareness, people have called it out and confirmed that its numbers were also inaccurate and it wasn't the hit KJo made it out to be claiming that Alia was the first heroine to have a successful solo film.

Honestly, it should have been obvious just by comparing to the 90s against Sridevi and Madhuri. Some of the articles said that even compared to modern-day films, Rani's films are way more financially successful and even Aishwarya's Jazbaa, compared to this latest trash.

Also another Alia example is Darlings. There was a thread sometime back about streaming numbers for OTT films and hers was at the bottom of most streamed films. Deepika's Gehraiyaan, which was treated by the media as a flop, was at the top of most streamed OTT films, and Madhuri's Maja Ma was also very high. This shows it's all about perception. KJo crafts a narrative which has no evidence or truth behind it but he repeats it enough that people start to believe whatever he claims. Kangana, for all her faults, has done one thing right which is to call KJo out on this and expose his fake box office collections.

Gives her best directors, best actors & best writers to work with, fudges collection for her, Publishes a paid hit verdict too Idk if u have noticed or not, Alia acts touchy wid actors only when they have successful phase. She stopped working wid Varun as soon as he flopped & published negative articles against Ranveer when he is still in bad phase. She is a terrible human as well.

Honestly, I didn't know about Raazi until recently either. It was treated like such a hit in the media that I always believed this narrative blindly until people on here educated me that this was not the case. KJo even does this for his non-Alia films although less successfully. SOTY2 got lots of negative controversy for making up false reports about good reviews and box office records. I remember this one woman exposed the fact that she hadn't seen the movie but KJo had his people waiting outside of cinemas, paying them to give SOTY2 good reviews.

I've definitely noticed that Alia has stopped working with Varun now. Ironically enough, the only time there was perhaps any audience support or love for her was when she was working with Varun. I never liked her or thought much of her but I could stomach her with Varun because they worked as a cute couple onscreen. Now she can't even rely on that. With Ranveer, it's even more embarrassing for her because she stole the Filmfare Award from any of the rightful winners, yet everyone unanimously agrees that Ranveer was the best part of Rocky aur Rani. How, if he won, that would still make sense but nobody agreed with her role where the only thing people had any praise for was the saris. She was grievously miscast especially with her non-attempt at a Bengali accent. Even in Gully Boy, people were upset that her nothing bit of a part got the Filmfare. In both films, she was easily upstaged by Ranveer, even though Rocky aur Rani was tailormade for her, so now she's taking it out on him. If she was a good human being, I might still have some sympathy for her but nothing she's done in real life can make me feel even an ounce of pity for her. I still think of how disingenuous she's been to close friends like Varun, Sid, and Katrina.

It's very interesting that DP gets accusations here of being the PR savvy queen but if that was the case, why did she not use that for Gehraiyaan? For years I was under the impression that film was a flop all because of the media narrative behind it. I did see the Darlings narrative about how Alia had upstaged her fellow actors (yeah right, she couldn't even upstage Kareena on KWK) and of course, she won an undeserved Filmfare for that too. I didn't even know who Tripti was then but I remember seeing all the outrage here that Tripti lose the OTT Filmfare Award to this one.

RK saved the Indian cinema.

On point 💯 Real PR queen is Kjo ki beti aka Alia Meryl Streep. Her PR has become ruthless since fraud hit gangubai. Both 🥔 & her PR needs to be humbled!

But yes movies after that was terrible, rockstar was overhyped and the great thing about rockstar was the music by ar rahman, other than that, yes he became a bad director not sure what happened after lak. I have not seen his movies highway, rockstar, tamasha and etc, don't feel like watching any rk or alia movie unless they are doing a movie with someone who I like.

You are not missing out. All very overhyped films especially that ridiculous Highway which her fans treat like a holy relic. Looking at it now, I'm sure KJo was responsible for the media attention to Highway like he's been for all her latest movies. It's nothing remarkable. The only reason anyone should be impressed is because it was simply a passable performance compared to her SOTY debut where she was truly horrendous.

Also if you've seen one Ranbir performance, you've seen them all, whether Rockstar or Tamasha. Always the same character, just a new name. And the character tends to get more toxic with each film. Most actors better themselves, and Ranbir does the opposite and shows more of his true colors in each performance culminating in Animal. And I thought nothing could top how unlikable his ADHM character was.
