Okay …so after a very long time, I watched an entire episode of the show instead of relying on updates and SM clips. I say this in all honesty, this was the first episode of the season, from those that I have watched, where I got Rishta vibes in its entirety. We actually had two families bonding and celebrating the same way they used to in Season 1…mazaa aagaya . I really enjoyed Armaan’s entry. Full on tashan and energy. I really liked his scene with Dadi sa and I am pointing out to this one because the essence of his character rests on his equation with her. I really liked that he was deferential and yet not bending over backwards or crying. He was saying everything right and yet not looking like he was begging or pleading for acceptance. I like the confidence in the man and I want it to stay this way. When he saw Roohi, I did not see a besotted lover. I only saw someone who was genuinely happy to see her happy and chirpy. Her angst has been a huge source of guilt for him and obviously, seeing her happy is going to make him happy and relieved. But no, he did not give her romantic or lovesick looks from any angle. On his brief interaction with Abhira, there was concern but not any major awareness. Both of them made that interlude different from the past trip and fall sequences and I am so glad for that. I liked his growing sense of unease when he saw them both imbibing like there was no tomorrow. Overall, I really liked Armaan 2.0. And yes, I really liked Ruhi 2.0 too. Despite everything she’s done, she made me feel a tad bad for her. She lost out on her love because of her own stupidity but she actually cared deeply for Armaan. In one episode, this girl made me feel what Ruhi 1.0 had not made me feel in all these months. She actually looks like Abhira’s older sister and they look like they could form a genuine bond. Garvita’s performance makes Ruhi endearing too, and am sure she will make us hate her when she tries to spoil things for Armaan and Abhira. But today, I liked her. On Abhira, she was adorable as always and Samriddhi is just going from strength to strength as a performer. Overall, I have hope for the show so long as they don’t mess with the narrative. I wanted to see a mature Armaan and I got to see him today!! And for all those who think Armaan looks like Abhira’s father or brother, I would respectfully request them to get their vision checked. They probably need spectacles more than Armaan does!
