The fact is we had our first Odia movie in 1936...a very old film industry with some beautiful classic...

But since late 90s all we have done is remakes... earlier it was hindi remakes..then it is Telugu/Tamil ...& You are right every Telugu/Tamil film has a Odia remake....just cash grab..

There are some really nice south movies which no one bothers to remake but all sorts of flashy movies gets remade

This is a really funny coincidence which happened with me back in 2011 / 12

I was surfing through channels and saw the Tamil dubbed version of Brindavanam...half of the movie was already over by the time i started watching it then the movie got over and i was again swtiching through the channels and i landed on a channel which was airing Brindavanam in Telugu ( the movie had just started when i changed to that channel)

I watched two halves of the same movie in different languages

I remembered this after discussing about the movie today

See had Samantha been a famous actress back then, definitely they would have had Samantha and NTR together, but she was a very new actress back then only one movie with Naga Chaitanya who himself was a nobody in Telugu film industry back then, while Kajal was top heroine, they could not have shown Samantha being chosen over Kajal as that would upset the fans, so while character wise I wanted Indu and Krish together, I was expecting they won't.

The movie where I actually felt bad was Janatha Garrage. There NTR's character and Samantha's character were like childhood sweethearts and best friends too, and yet they decided to separate since NTR decided to continue with Janatha Garrage. Even if they wanted to show that people have to let go their love, they could have ended the romantic angle there itself, but uselessly they brought that other girl, whom NTR had chided for celebrating Deewali and paired them together.

Like didn't he even once think of moving away from his love? And they never even show a romantic development between the two (at least Brindavan had how Kajal and NTR got close)

Some movies...like Mayakkam enna..Asuran,Karnan , jai Bhim..,poladhavan I don't think bollywood is capable of remaking them..

They should not even try...if they are not sure of the content..

I want to see movies in actual langue, but I didn't find Brindavan in Telugu, only Tamil dub is there

True Hindi me bhi to banaate hi hain majority ki

I wont be surprised if Bollywood makes a remake of RRR or Bahubali

Janta Garage had a sad ending to that romantic subplot....they didn't even bother showing his character being sad after breaking up with her , he wanted him to get out of that life by reminding him that he had a family waiting for him.....irony was that they broke up due to the dad of the second heroine with whom he gets married to at the end of the film

Watching movies in actual language gives real fun, so much is lost in translation...I wish I could understand languages better..as subtitles are not available for every movies..
