If that was common area than how they charged 40k or 80k from Chitnis family for using their private terrace may be that time Mistress told them it's their private terrace as per what Coolie said in earlier episode. May be Mistress kept that additional money and decorated terrace so Ahuja's believe it's their private terrace. Dumb Ahuja's must have not checked the papers properly.

Was wondering why you always spell 'terrace' as 'terrasse'... checked to learn its terrasse in French.

She did lie about the terrace. But wont say what happened on the Anniversary was on purpose. But she couldn't say to them that it wasn't their part... and will have to guess even Jahan didnt know at the time (may also be that at the time they were under the 'right' impression that it is society's terrace.)

Jahan got permission for anniversary since it was society common property than Ahuja's came and claimed it's their private property so Jahan must be under impression that they must have bought that area but later found out it was not sold to them but they just acquired it.

Oh ok.. thats fine too then. Back then I had the impression that she didn't take permission cause of that 'this entire land was mine' thing. Yeah.. cant blame her / them for not knowing the exact details back then.

Because of it i learnt its terrasse in French. even if it was a spelling mistake no complaints. Made me check and thought went in the right direction too - must be French.
